My dream is to have my CPA so I know I will have have job security in my future. It will also open up a lot more opportunities for me and make me more marketable. My undergrad in accounting and my masters in accounting was all working towards getting my CPA. It is my last big goal related to my education that I set out to do since I was probably 19. I just wish I didn't spread it over 10 years…

    Qlad…Work through these examples:

    https://tax.cchgroup.com/downloads/files/contemporary-tax-practice/Module2/Topic3/B-Sec-351-Transfers-Basis-Property-Received-Corporation.asp

They helped me nail down Corp. formation. Even though it is for Sec. 351, they give an example where that doesn't apply.

    Hello Qlad,

How I mastered Corps is mainly by doing all the MQc's and doing through some SIM samples. I am taking long since I read the answers and also try to have discussions on why its Answer A instead B. so very time consuming. But it helps a lot to get that foundation locked down.

For Basis what Cup cake give is good.

I have this that I used and helps me.

    Initial Basis XXXX

    +/- Income/Loss %

    + Muni Bonds

    +/-Seperately Stated Items

    – Distributions Received

    = End Basis.

    FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

I think I found an error in the Wiley Test Bank (DBCR-0007). Before I report it, I want a second opinion… Let me know what you think the answer is and why. Thanks!

Dent Corporation received a loan from Jardine Finance Company. As a part of the signed written agreement, Jardine required that one of the members of the board of directors of Dent Corporation act as a surety for the entire loan. The loan agreement also called for some of Dent’s real estate to be used as collateral for 50% of the loan. Which of the following is not correct?

A- If Jardine recovers more than half of the loan amount upon resale of the collateral, Jardine must pay the excess to Dent.

B- Jardine may choose to proceed against the surety for the entire loan when the loan is due.

C- When the loan is due, Jardine must first seek collection of the loan from Dent before resorting to the surety or the collateral.

D- When the loan is due, if the collateral does not contribute to half of the loan, Jardine may seek to recover the entire remainder from the surety without resorting to the corporation.
