I have a proposition guys…we all are weak at some or the other topic…let's take one topic and all put as many questions as we find… and try to answer each other questions…move to the next topic only when totally strong and satisfied… let's not give the whole chapter as weakness…but just one topic…say MACRS…or IRA… so that the other person can really find the question that you are weak at….only questions and explanations…what do u say???

With gift taxation, you can give some $14,000 a year with out being tax. Reading the Ninja notes, it says total donees * $14,000 exclusion. Does that mean you can give more than 1 person $14,000 in a year without being taxed? You can gift 100 people $14,000 and still be good? Is that right?

Thanks Skrier. I think I was reading it in Becker and I was understanding it as 14,000 per year period, but the Ninja notes said per person per year. So I was kind of confused. Thanks!

@svwCPA72…I agree, I too am using Becker and it isn't very clear. But yes it is a per person per year exclusion. Keep in mind there is a lifetime maximum, Becker shows this amount as $5,000,000. Take a look at the example on the bottom of page R4-37. I am using 2013 version, but it is showing the 2012 exclusion amounts, but the concept is the same, just use 14K exemption amount instead of 13k if you are using the same version.
