    does the Personal holding company adjustable taxable income calculation in Rogers say to deduct federal foreign taxes, or federal income tax?

    Beckers says federal income tax. ninja says federal foreign taxes.

    Hello Terrance

    I am pretty sure it is both the Federal taxable income or the Foreign taxes (if PHC that is foreign)

    Undistributed PHC Income Computation —Specific Adjustments to Taxable Income

    Specific Adjustments to Taxable Income.

    NOLs. Add back any deduction that reduced taxable income.

    DRD. Add back dividends-received deductions that reduced taxable income.

    Charitable contributions. Subtract excess over 10% of taxable income disallowed.

    Federal income tax or Foreign Income tax

    Subtract it from taxable income;

    Do not subtract AET or personal holding corporation tax.

    FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

    What are negotiable instruments so important on the exam? It seems a little ridiculous, doesn't it. Am I just being cranky about this or does any one else think this too? Monday, Wednesday and Friday are my at home study days and I've been doing mcq's all morning. Maybe I am just cranky. BOO!

    LOL when I first read that chapter I got a splitting headache.

    Its one area I am still not confident in. I hope to review it again by the weekend.

    How heavily is it tested not sure. Judging from comments in the REG experience it seems everyone advice has been learn the REG material well as anything and everything is fair game.

    So with that in mind. I intend to make sure I have a good foundation on the subject 🙂

    I do hope when I post up some questions that i am stuck on i can get some discussion going on why the answer is what it is. I really find the legal side of REG very jibberish.
