rlang10ParticipantDoes anyone know if there is access in the sims to the forms in the AL? Might be nice to be able to look at a 1040 when given a sim on Schedule A for example…

ZSRizviMemberJust started the 2014 version…what happened to the “Individual taxation-capital gains and losses” section in R1 (for all of you using Becker)?
And LOL rlang at your signature. I feel like it's going to be the same for me. Started out high and then am going to fizzle out.
BEC (July 2013)
FAR (OCT 2013)
REG (NOV 2013)
AUD (JAN 2014)The CPA Exam is an opponent that not even the Fellowship of the Ring would want to come across.
I have a long...long...journey ahead of me.

stephk919ParticipantHey everyone..
I just took BEC this morning (was brutal) and scheduled REG for Dec. 5th. Do you think it's realistic to finish studying for this part in 4 weeks – working full-time ?
I plan on putting in about between 25-30 hours a week. I would push it back but my AUD expires in March so I have to try to get in as much as I can in these next few months and take FAR in January/February – during busy season ๐
Any advice would be highly appreciated. I am using Becker Self Study and Wiley Test Bank
AUD - 83!! July 2012 (Expired), July 8 2014... waiting and waiting...
REG - October/November 2014
FAR - Late August 2014
BEC - 82 !!! Nov. 2013Using Becker Self Study and Wiley Test Bank

jessica8926ParticipantOk I am studying with Becker and they posed a question about Limited Liability and an answer which makes no sense. So anyone who has experience with this could you please explain this to me:
Juan is a limited partner in Pet Food and Fun, Limited Partnership. Juan visited Chow, Inc., a local supplier of dog food claiming to be a “partner” in the partnership and negotiated a distribution contract between the supplier and limited partnership on behalf of the partnership.
As result of these actions, Juan:
A) Has limited liability as a limited partner to all creditors except Chow, Inc.
B) None of the above
C) Has limited liability as a limited partner in reference to all creditors
D) Has full personal liability to all creditors
Answer: A is correct
Rule: A limited partner will be considered a general partner with full personal liability only to those that the limited partner transacts with as if he were a general partner.
PLEASE HELP! Thank you!
AUD - 69, 77
REG - 74, 81
FAR - 75!
BEC - 71, 82IL candidate!
Finally done (5/24/16)!! Yahooooooo!

If Juan is a limited partner, he only has limited liability to all creditors (unless he transacts business with a creditor like he did with Chow). Then, he is personally liable for for the debt to Chow since he acted as a General Partner, and had apparent authority to contract with Chow based on his representation.
So, answer A seems correct to me. He still has limited liability to all OTHER creditors. But opened himself up to full liability with ONLY Chow, through is actions negotiating the distribution agreement.
AUD - 82 (10/13)
REG - 84 (11/13)
BEC - 91 (2/14)
FAR - 81 (4/14)
(Wiley, WTB, Ninja Blitz)I'm DONE!!!! Thanks Jeff & all the Ninjas out there who answered questions & encouraged me along the way!

NYCaccountantParticipantLimited partners cannot be agents of the partnership and therefore cannot bind the partnership to agreements with creditors. Also, by entering to the agreement, Juan basically gave up his limited liability and is now personally liable for the debt. Limited partners cannot take an active role in managing the business, or else they lose there protection of limited liability. They must remain passive when it comes to the management aspect of the partnership.
