Hey guys, just joining the forum from Audit. This will hopefully be my last exam so I'm really hoping to hit it hard. I've gone through the Becker videos for R-1 and R-2. I haven't seen anything “too challenging” thus far, just a lot of memorization. For those of you further into the program, which Becker section do you feel is the toughest with regards to REG?

The aoc is 100% of the first 2,000 qualifying expenses, 25% of the next 2,0000… it is also partially refundable, up to 40% in 2012. I'm not sure if this is extended for 2013? You can also take it PER STUDENT. So if you have 3 dependent students you get the credit 3 times.

The lifetime learning is 20% of the first 10,0000, is nonrefundable, and is per taxpayer/return.

They are also both subject to phase outs

@Qlad and UCMCPA regarding the Education Tax Incentives…do you have any good mnemonics or anything to help remember it? I barely glanced over it during studying, and I think there was maybe 1 or 2 questions on MCQ.

@UCMCPA I just took my first Becker Practice Exam and by averaging everything, I got an 84. I wish this is how the actual exam was scored! I was thrown by some of the MCQ and Sims…they hardly covered a couple things in lecture and during homework MCQ and then they throw these MCQ in to the practice exam?! WTF!!!
