@anyatver Thank you for the advice.Maybe it will be different when I try the AICPA practice test, as that will be a better example of how the exams authoritative literature works. Perhaps Becker's Authoritative literature is finicky.

I cannot get Beckers advanced search to work for me. It always returns not results.

I just scored 84% on the first Becker final exam. 94% on the MCQ and 72% on the Sims. Needless to say, two of the sims were topics that weren't my strong suit, but makes me nervous to see that score. What do you guys think?

@CPA I think that's amazing. the first time I took the Mock exam I was freaking out over time and finished with 2 hours left and got a 51%

You have motivated me to retake it!

If an Estate has let say a DNI of $50,00 and a mandatory distribution of $10,000, but the distribution was not made in the year….

The beneficiary would have ZERO taxable income correct???

    Hey, everyone!

I do wish I had targeted taxation of entities a little more because I came across a few questions I was unsure of.

SIMS were crazy but that's to be expected. Four of my sims were the new type that I can never remember what they're called. Document review something maybe? If that violates anything, please take it down or I will try to! But I thought that was a comical number.

I take tomorrow off then studying for BEC on Friday. I sit for it on September 8th. One thing I need to do better is research. I am absolutely awful at research and navigating the authoritative literature. You'd think I would have tried to get better at it before now but I'm sick of searching frantically for answers during sims.

Excuse any typos, I'm on my phone!

@summer did you feel like ninja mcq pretty much covered everything you were tested on? anything super left field? Also, wondering what your timing was for MCQ testlets and sim testlets. Did you have time to finish comfortably?

I think Ninja prepared me well. I'm kind of indifferent on how I did, leaning more toward the sad side though because there were a few questions I would have been able to answer right without question if I had studied it more, but that was my fault and not Ninjas. I completed the MCQs in about an hour and 15 minutes I think? I can't remember exactly. I do remember, however, that when I came back from the scheduled 15 minute break and had 6 Sims left, I had around 2 hours and 10 minutes left. I think I had enough time for the SIMS. I spent a good 20 minutes searching the authoritative literature on the research one, not to mention searching it for other questions to see if I was answering them right. Luckily, I think I found the research SIM word for word which makes me super happy given that I am usually awful at finding anything useful in the literature. This is what I think: if you're prepared for the exam, you'll have plenty of time to do everything. If you're under prepared, you may feel like you're in a rush because you're spending a lot of time trying to figure out how to do something or the right calculation and time goes by fast.

Did anyone solve the AICPA practice test? I spent a lot of time trying to solve to get the right answer they posted
Did anyone know how to get the DRS correctly?

    #1594073

The DRS practice sim that the AICPA provides deals with a lot of the like-kind exchange rules and involuntary conversions.

    Hi all,

I'm going to start studying for REG in September in hopes of taking it early in the testing window in Oct sometime. I was wondering if anyone had some advice for when to schedule it based on the following: I'm studying full-time with no job so I can dedicate about 4-5 hours a day, and I'm using Wiley.

Is 45 days a reasonable amount of time to study? I usually want to have about 10-12 days to review. Thank you for your help!

@coach REG is easily doable in 4 weeks if you're studying full time. If you're doing 5 ish hours a day, 5 weeks should still be plenty in my opinion.

@Summer, Did Ninja SIMs helped you? and does it have the new type SIMs?

Man, I am getting slaughtered by the Ninja MCQ's. Low 60's I need to take more notes. I seem to be doing really well on the topics that I have gone through with the Becker final review. I will keep pushing and try not to get discouraged.

What is everyone using to practice MCQs? I've been using Ninja, and although i'm late to the party I found out that alot of what is on the current MCQs for Regulation isn't on anymore, like Negotiable Instruments. Are people still using the Ninja MCQs even though the current one seems to be outdated? I was thinking of buying an updated version of the Wiley Test Bank, or CPAExcel, whatever it's called.
