Hi Everyone- I just started studying for REG. I am using CPA Excel and NINJA notes right now. Instead of starting with the CPA Excel videos I went right into reviewing the NINJA notes. I feel like the video will be helpful but could takes month and months to get through. I have found on other exams I've learned the most just taking tons of MCQs so I'm thinking to study the notes and then jump into the MCQs right away and only use the videos on parts I'm struggling with.

Has anyone used a study method similar to this?

I'd really like to take REG at the end of July…

    Thanks!

    AUD – passed

    BEC – waiting to hear

    Dan T – I'm in CT too

    AUD - passed
    BEC - retake in July

@jes–I'm following that method too. I skipped the lectures and reading the book. I combined CPAExcel notes into Ninja Notes and I'm going to start going through them and working MCQ this week. Test on 07/19. We can do it!

Weekend productivity was mediocre … still going at it, though. On the upside, even with changing my study method, I think I've still put in enough time this weekend to not fall behind on my study schedule. I think I can thanks Jeff's bite-size blitz videos for that.

Hi everyone. I am a REG newbie here who just got out of the testing center and faced FAR (3rd attempt) yesterday. I have no idea what REG is all about. So is this kind of test we need to know about the circular no., source no., verse no., or article no. like the bar exams?

Finally finished R1 lecture. God that was boring! Really gotta pick it up this week with the lectures. I hate watching them but I am afraid I will be too lost if I skip them.

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

Just finished R-3. Thinking I have bit off more than I can chew with this test. Does anyone else completely bomb mcq first time through? I just passed AUD and this is a whole different ballgame!

This will be my 3rd attempt at REG 🙁 I purchased the Ninja MCQ a week or two ago, and I am so glad that I did. I'm almost at the adaptive learning stage, and there are so many questions and concepts in the database that aren't covered in the Wiley bank. Haven't done any sims yet, but I will be working on those this week since I keep getting “weaker” on my score report for that category.

Happy studying everyone! We can do this!

I finished reading my Wiley book this weekend. Now on to MCQ's until my head explodes. After that I will rewrite the Ninja Notes and study weak areas and test on 7/1

    REG - 86
    FAR - 74,
    BEC - 72,
    AUD -73,

Is anyone else skipping the bus. law section for a while? I've heard that they dont test much BL on the exam (even though its supposed to be a 60/40 split) so I'm focusing pretty much just on tax. I was planning on starting BL maybe in a few weeks and work it in with my review for like 3 weeks up until my test. Is this silly of me :/

    AUD - 75 ☺
    FAR - 65, 71, 70, 77 ☺
    BEC - 80 ☺
    REG - 73, 66, 79 ☺ 2/28/15

    Done!

That's Smart Dan T. The exam is pretty much tax. Law questions are probably like every third or fourth question. The SIMs are most likely to be all tax though.

    FAR - 93
    REG - 87
    BEC - 84!!!!
AUD - 99!!!!!! CPA exam complete.

For REG tax is very important so learn it well and know all your tax concepts.

Compared to B Law i would put more energy in SEC and Ethics as that is pretty heavily tested.

Okay Q3-ers, I'm going to have to take back what I said about lectures. I could listen about tax all day long, but these business law lectures are putting me to sleep! I guess I'm joining the book club from here on out until MCQs.

    REG: July 14
    AUD: 2014
    BEC: 2015
    FAR: 2015

Since I have fallen behind on my lectures, I might do the same. Do all my lectures for tax chapters and skip them for business law chapters. Sounds like a great idea!

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

@Amay – from what I've picked up on about the subject matter of the test, I don't know if it's worth it to spend so long on the business law lectures. I'm just going to read and take notes, listen to the audio, and master the NINJA flashcards before the MCQs. Hopefully that will be enough!

    REG: July 14
    AUD: 2014
    BEC: 2015
    FAR: 2015
