a little nugget I was missing about commercial paper – a Holder in due course wins against personal defenses when he “takes free” and loses to real defenses when he “takes subject to.” I think I have that right now. Feel free to correct me.

Hello People!!!! For those of you that used Becker Flashcards in your study regimen – what did you think? Were they helpful? I'm trying to find a different way to get all those tax rules cemented in my brain. I've been using Ninja flashcards (Ninja audio, Ninja notes with Yaeger videos, Wiley test bank) so far – and they've been more then awesome in helping me pass FAR, AUD, and BEC – I just feel I need a little push in memorizing the concepts and flashcards using the brainscape app has done it for me…. I'd appreciate any advice!!!!

    FAR - 02/24/14 - 86
    AUD - 04/03/14 - 88
    REG - 05/29/14 - 68 Retook 11/22/14 - 81 I PASSED!!!!!!!!! IM DONE! Thank You Jesus!
    BEC - 07/19/14 - 85

So sorry guys (mamma, amay, qlad). This one is awful, Ill admit. It's so much less material than FAR but the material is just terrible. AMT, Partnerships, blah and haven't even gotten to bus law yet. I'm doing my best, and those of you that know me know I always think positive, but from a rational perspective I wouldn't be surprised if I see you guys here in Q4. Either way…good luck to you guys and please keep plowing on…..

Planning to finish R2 today. I'm pretty far behind my schedule.

I might just skip R3 and R4 and come back to them later. There's so much tax.

    FAR: May 1st, 2014 - 91
    AUD: May 29th, 2014 - 97!
    BEC: July 16th, 2014 - 91
    REG: August 29th, 2014 - 88

@JamsBJames, I am also behind on my studying. I just finished R1, I really need to pick up the pace.

    FAR - 93 - 7/1/14
    AUD - 94 - 7/25/14
    REG - 92 - 8/30/14
    BEC - 89 - 10/6/14

What is it about REG that perpetuates procrastination? I wasn't like this with my first two but damn I'm behind too!

Started studying for REG on July 15th after taking my AUD exam. Just got my AUD score and didnt pass….AGAIN!! 🙁

I guess something needs to change with my studying. I think instead of trying to knock out all the MCQ I can, I am going to re-write NINJA notes and listen to audio and make sure I get the concepts down. I felt like I studied “enough” to get a 75. Not really sure what that means. I guess this beast is harder than I thought. I'm thinking about studying at least 120 hours (following NINJA studying Planner) and we'll see how that goes.

Any advice would surely be appreciated….Not passing one yet is real discouraging and I just want to give up.

I feel like that other girl who posted earlier today…AM I TOO STUPID TO PASS THIS THING..

    AUD - 49, 66, 72, 77!!
    FAR - 72, 73, 78
    BEC - 70, 74, 79, I'm DONE!!!!!!
    REG - 70, 76!!!! FIRST PASS

I'm sure I will have that same feeling “AM I TOO STUPID TO PASS THIS THING” too if I don't pass my first section which is REG. However I don't think we are stupid, it's just that some of us are bad test takers =/

    #591775

Agreed a million times over debbieh! Preparation and test taking ability is what makes the difference. If we can sit we are smart enough to pass…The AICPA made sure of that! Test anxiety and preparation are really all that create the difference in all of us….

    @JMCAPASSO

I know how you feel. I myself have failed REG three times, the most recent attempt with a 70, which stings. My advice is to just focus on one section until you pass. Since I noticed that you got a 70 on REG as well, I suggest trying to pass REG first before moving on to another section.

To those who use Becker, if I'm looking to supplement with something for REG would you recommend Ninja MCQ, WTB, or Ninja notes? I got by fine with just Becker for the other 3 sections, but this one is a beast!

    AUD 2/2014 95
    BEC 4/2014 92
    FAR 7/2014 92
    REG 8/2014 TBD

    #591778

I am just starting on the Ninja MCQs, so can't yet give an opinion but there are some really good reviews out there for them. I love the ninja notes. The WTB has gone downhill and the cost has gone through the roof. I would steer clear and stick with the Ninja products as Jeff puts out a great product and refrains from price gouging.
