Hey guys, I'm going to be finishing up my lessons this week, and I am trying to figure out the best review method. I finished learning FAR two days before I took it, so I didn't really have time to figure out a solid review method. Can anyone give me some insight into what works for them? Thanks!

These commercial paper questions are eating me alive!

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

@LaComptable You are right in your logic but when I calculate “70% of the taxable income without regard to DRD, NOL deduction, capital loss carryback, or domestic activities production” I get 60,000 X 70% = 42,000. $7,000 < $42,000 and it did not produce an NOL, therefore $7,000 DRD was correctly used.

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

@CopyPasteMonkey — I just finished the REG Becker book yesterday and am planning on re-reading all the highlights in the chapter before moving on to answer all MC questions again and most of the sims again. I am planning on allowing more time for chapters 3 & 4 since those were harder for me.

My test is two weeks from today. I haven't started freaking out yet….I am wondering if that's a good or bad thing. What is your review plan??

    AUD - 81 (5/5/14)
    REG - 67 (7/28/14) b00; (10/3/2014)

    FAR -

@NEY_000 I am currently using CPAExcel, so I'm not familiar with the Becker chapters, but your strategy sounds pretty solid. I was thinking about doing the practice exam in CPAE, then doing WTB MCQ focus tests, and then flashcard the answer rationales on the questions I get wrong.. sounds tedious just typing it lol

It's ok, I haven't either.. what date is your test? I'm the 25th

I'm taking my exam on Monday, July 28. I've read all the chapters and have gone through 75% of the multiple choice questions. I scored around 70%, the first time around. I looked at only half the SIMS. My plan is to review chapters 1 – 4 in depth again (SIMS included) this week and part of next week. I'll go through chapter 5 – 8 in the days leading up to the exam. I took off all of next week, using all my remaining PTO days. Good luck to those with tests this week.

@NEY_000 how long it take you to finish Becker? Honest there is too much notes in Becker, I have both Becker and CPAexcel. I start with Becker a week ago and just finish R1 and did over 70 MCQ on it. I am debating if the strategy will be effective to sit for exam on August 30

    AUD 89 (07/06/14)

    FAR 78 (04/27/2015)

@iddyrashy – it took me 8 weeks to finish the book because I wanted to do a chapter a week, which is what works best for me. You can do chapters 1-4, spending a week each and chapters 5-8, doing two chapters a week. And then spend your last week reviewing. Business law is only worth 20% on exam day. It's worth a shot if you can't move your test back.

@copypastemonkey – test date is July 28th. I forgot to leave extra time in my review schedule for those practice tests. How hard do you plan on hitting SIMS? I hardly reviewed them for AUD.

@NEY thanks…. I will try to see if I can squeeze two chapter a week. I always like 2 weeks review.

My exam is tomorrow. Supposed to be working, but I've been doing SIMS (at my desk) all day 🙂

    @ney_000

To be honest, I will probably hit them the most in areas that I test low in on MCQ since they technically have the same content as MCQ's; do you have WTB?

@Alex82 That sounds like a great plan!
