@Ima_Audit_You not sure about getting too much into detail with those either. I am planning on memorizing the main adjustments and maybe some of the preferences. It seems like a lot. Check out this video posted by Jeff: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ns6JReRDZbQ

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

*This is my 2nd attempt at the CPA exam. For all of you who have failed this exam many times, given up on it, or taken a break like me, remember that it is still possible to finish what you started...failure is the opportunity to begin again more intelligently 🙂

How is everyone doing that is testing before the cut-off date? Hopefully you are reviewing already and are not super behind like me! I'm actually starting to freak out a little bit. I am not sure if I will make it without rescheduling. I go on a 4-day vacation on the 18th so would really like to sit before then, but I haven't even done a first run-through of the tax questions. How did this happen??!!

Before I continue with my pity party, can you guys please critique my study plan for the next 9 days and let me know if you think it's doable?

    Today: finish business law questions

Sun 7/6 – Wed 7/9: do tax questions

    Thu 7/10 – Fri 7/11: rewrite notes

Sat 7/12 – Mon 7/14: review by doing short quizzes by topics (focus on speed)

    Tue 7/15: Test at noon

And oh yea, I do work full time but will see about taking the day before test day.

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

@Amay that sounds like a solid plan to me! Especially with a day off before.

I'm thinking about moving my exam just a couple days out… What are everyone's thoughts about whether two days can really make a difference?

    FAR 75 (8/21/13)
    AUD 72 (10/29/13) 74 (2/12/14) 84! (04/01/14)
    BEC 75 (11/27/13)
    REG 72 (05/29/14) 74 (07/10/14) 86 and DONE! (10/02/14)

@Amay–I have 14 days and I'm freaking out even with a first and second pass through the tax questions. This stuff just isn't sinking in, but I'm still pushing. Hopefully if I see the questions enough and read the explanations enough I'll remember enough to pass on exam date (07/19). Good luck with your plan!! You've got this!

    @yassy
–If you're talking about 2 full days then it could be helpful, but if you're only talking about a couple hours of studying each day then I probably wouldn't move the test.

Thanks Yassy! How are you doing with your scores? Are you not scoring high enough yet in all the areas? I usually rely on that to tell me if a couple of days will make the difference or not.

    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77

@CPAMommy thanks for replying! My advice to you is to try to use the forum more like you did for FAR! I am not as comfortable with material yet, that's why I am not responding to a lot of the questions people are posting, but I'm sure others will contribute. Let's plan a quiz night in the coming week?

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

That would be great, especially if we could get more people in on it so it's question after question after question without long breaks in between questions. I study on Tuesday nights and on the weekend. I can be on by 6:30 EST on Tuesday if that works for you.

I will try to get through my tax questions by then so I can be as active as possible. Anyone else in?

    BEC: 73, 81
    AUD: 85
    FAR: 71, 77
    REG: 74, 75...finally DONE! 😀

6:30PM EST and later on Tuesday?

Okay, I would like to join even if I'm only at R2 now.

@Amor–Yep! See you then! Let's bring back some of that Q2 FAR magic. Most of us that participated passed. That has to mean something, right? 🙂

I'm not sure what you mean by “combined studies”, but utilizing the study group is great for working through problems. You should participate in our quizzing session on here on Tuesday night. It really does help.

It's 3:12 a.m. and I just woke up from a short unplanned nap at my dining room table. I guess it's time for bed.

@Amay– My scores are still low 70's for most topics… 🙁 although i do tend to rush through practice questions

@CPAMommyof3 — Yes two full days. I have the whole week off 🙂

    FAR 75 (8/21/13)
    AUD 72 (10/29/13) 74 (2/12/14) 84! (04/01/14)

@amay–No drool. I was sitting up in my chair…asleep! I nodded off a few times and then would wake up, answer a MCQ, and then nod back off. Good news though–I scored pretty well on my quiz session, even with my little naps. 🙂

    @yassy
–With 2 full days it could help. Since it is your last one you should give it the best shot possible so you don't have to deal with this test again! 🙂 You can do it!
