jfernandes, I emailed Jeff for the REG updates on Friday afternoon and received them Saturday afternoon. Except for the updated Notes– I got Audio again for that email, but I think it was confusing since I got the Notes in the BTGO offer. Hopefully I'll get my Notes soon. I started listening to the updated Audio on Sunday and got through chapter 1. Not too many changes so far, but there are a few that seem really helpful. Sounds like a good game plan to go ahead and reschedule so you can use the time to study. Are you giving yourself just a couple more weeks? It doesn't seem like you need TOO much more time.

@hollycontinues Glad I was able to help! Sometimes when I do practice problems I do not read the question properly which causes me to miss the problem altogether. I understand the subject, however, a silly mistake like not reading the question thoroughly caused me to get the problem wrong.

Please feel free to ask any questions to the group and maybe our explanation might help you understand why a certain answer is correct (as oppose to the other ones).

@Kimboroni I received Jeff's email this morning. It included the notes, audios, flashcards, and study planners. I would email Jeff again with your purchase receipt from BTGO offer. I am sure he received hundreds of emails over the week and mistakenly forgot to include the notes when replying to your email.

What has helped me to listen to the audio while going through the notes. Any side stories that Jeff mentions I write those stories in the margins. It definitely helps me understand the topic better.

I am aiming to reschedule the exam either 3rd or 4th week of July. I quit my job last week to solely focus on the CPA exam. I have been fortunate enough that I am financially stable and able to live at home during this process.

Can anyone explain “at risk” losses?

This is just a quick explanation off the top of my head. Hopefully someone else jumps in. But basically a taxpayer can only deduct partnership losses up to the amount of their adjusted basis.

“At risk” losses, you can't lose more money than you have put at risk, so I believe MikeHoncho is correct.

Did anyone else notice in CPAexcel that the “mid quarter” convention was discussed in the video but not in the study text.. I know it's relevant but is this becoming a less testable topic? Thanks!
