    @ Ginger CPA –

Rogers has this updated for Medical

Medical expenses – paid and not reimbursed

o Medical services – not cosmetic

    o Most medical goods/devices

    o Health insurance premiums

Long term care insurance premiums on qualified policies.

    o Mileage to Doctor

 To extent exceeds 7.5% of AGI

They put a red line through this – (For 2013 the rate is scheduled to increase to 10%,

unless 65, then remains at 7.5% until 2017).

So to me it seems Medical is supposed to 7.5% per the Roger Updates but it seems Becker has it at 10% … Who is right in this case ?

    FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

@insiyah24, I dont see any red line on this subject neither in his books nor his online updates. Looks like you confusing yourself with something else.

    Hiya Ginger,

I see it when you go to his web page – online – go to Lecture Book Updates

Scroll down where you see this :-

Use if you are studying Regulation

American Taxpayer Relief Act Update for 2013.

Open the PDF file and look at page 4 in the PDF file

It has a heading (Page 2-15) – Medical Expenses. That is where you will see the updates made for the Rogers note book.

    @ gingercpa

I also have Roger CPA and can confirm that @insiyah is right in that Roger had in his update for Medical Expenses 7.5% threshold. Where as from the updates in NINJA it's 10%.

I believe this is an error on Roger's part that may not of been picked up yet.

Thanks CPAforeigner. I just emailed Rogers asking them to recheck this as now I am concerned about the Update file they have on their website.

I think I may just have to rely on the Ninja notes for the right updates….

It's definitely an error. Because if you go to there website where it says: Use if you have 2012 edition lecture books:

And click onto where it says REG Updates for 2013 and go to pg 8 of pdf and on to sub heading (pg 2-15) they have taken off the red line. So I assume 10% is correct.

As far as the stuff you need to know for REG update-wise … the NINJA Notes are correct.
