Member@strikeforce, I took the first Becker practice exam yesterday as well and have almost the exact same scores as you and did the same thing with the research question! I knew the answer, but couldn't find the code. Was driving me crazy. Below are my results…
T1: 62%
T2: 79%
T3: 75%
Sim1: 100%
2: 40%
3: 70%
4: 80%
5: 0%
6: 78%
I have until the 29th. I'm working through simulations on gleim now and plan to take a progress test tomorrow and then read over whatever chapter I'm weak in. Then do some mnemonic memorization (panictime and all other amt things!!) and then take exam 2 on Monday or Tuesday. After that? Probably just do as many mcq possible, read my notes daily, and go through flash cards.
Best of luck to you!! Stay confident and keep at it!

Member@ CPAforeigner, I don't know which years materials you using but I purchased mine this year in April and Roger clearly says on pg 2-15 that medical exp deduction for 2013 is 10% of AGI unless age 65.
@ Insiyah, all the 2013 updates that you pull for from Rogers website are supposed to be correct. I have no doubt about it.

Becker has updates for 2013 amounts and for AMT exemption they are:
SINGLE” 51,900, AMTI-115,400
Married JOINTLY 80,800, AMTI-153,900
and i have the same number for the adoption credit
I've been told by Becker that they rarely test amounts that change from year to year from inflation adjustments.
My plan is to know,
AMTI exemptions (bc becker stressed that)
new 10% for medical expenses
the 100 dollar 10% reduction for casualty loss, (C Corps theres no 100/10% reduction)
standard deductions of 6100 and 12200 HoH 8,590
personal exemption 3,900
Blind and Old (>=65 yrs old) extra standard deductions
then look at credit numbers and what sticks sticks, but im not going to go crazy nemorizing numbers,
Gift tax reduction per giftee of 14,000 joint is 28,000.
There might be one or two questions that make u memorize a number and hopefully ill get one of them right based on the list above, anything else i could careless about. Its impossible to know everything.
I take my exam on the 20th
I just took First becker FInal exam yesterday: (b4 reviewing 5-8, but after reviewing 2-4)
T1 54
T2 83
T3 87
T4
1 100
2 80 (4/5)
3 100
4 80 (4/5)
5 100
6 100
Btw guys if your not doing well on Beckers Sims its not a good thing. the Real deal is MUCH MUCH harder ive heard and it was the same way for FAR i destroyed the Sims on becker and got slayed by the real thing.

MemberHiya samdiegoCPA,
This is what I have about the itemized deductions.
Phase out of itemized deductions was eliminated for 2012, but returned for 2013.
The total of all itemized deductions is reduced by the smaller of:
• 1) 3% of the amount by which AGI exceeds the annual limit, or
• 2) 80% of the itemized deductions that are affected by the limit. (not including Gambling losses, Investment interest, Medical expenses and Casualty losses – GIMC)
FAR 05/27/14; 786/110 - Done !

Member@ Ginger CPA –
Rogers has this updated for Medical
Medical expenses – paid and not reimbursed
o Medical services – not cosmetic
o Most medical goods/devices
o Health insurance premiums
Long term care insurance premiums on qualified policies.
o Mileage to Doctor
To extent exceeds 7.5% of AGI
They put a red line through this – (For 2013 the rate is scheduled to increase to 10%,
unless 65, then remains at 7.5% until 2017).
So to me it seems Medical is supposed to 7.5% per the Roger Updates but it seems Becker has it at 10% … Who is right in this case ?
