    I believe this is the mode of thinking

    Advance payments for services – Generally, you report an advance payment for services to be performed in a later tax year as income in the year you receive the payment. However, if you receive an advance payment for services you agree to perform by the end of the next tax year, you can elect to postpone including the advance payment in income until the next tax year. However, you cannot postpone including any payment beyond that tax year

    Begnning unearned: 3200

    2011= $3200 * (8/64) = $400 total

    2012 = remainder = $2800..

    Well I took Regulation again and didn't manage the time to properly finish the Simulations (I had to guess on three….ha). I ended-up with about 19 minutes left for the simulations and became rattled at how extensive they were. After reading the information on all the Sims and trying to figure-out what the call of the questions were, I had no time to use the authoritative research!

    If I've failed, I'm ready for a rematch though and will work on focusing on the time a bit better! ha Any time-management tips would be great! =)

    question on start up expenses over 50,000

    I know if it was 40,000, in the beginning of the year, it'd be like this:

    (40,000 – 5,000 ) = 35,000 / 15 = 2333 = total of 7,333 (5,000 + 2,333)

    However, say it's $60,000 business start up expenses in the beginning of the year..by which way would the deduction be calculated.. a or b?

    a. ( 60,000 – 5,000 ) = ( 55,000 / 15) = 3667 and the 5,000 is just dissallowed?

    b. 60,000 / 15 = 4000 – the 5,000 isnt factored in at all?
