TncincyParticipantJumping in on the Reg board. Taking far 7/31 and Reg 8/16. Starting reg tonight wihile reviewing Far. Call it crazy, but it's time to get this done. I am familiar with reg so I don't feel as pressed as I am with Far. Just don't want my NTS to expire without giving it my best shot. Next time will register for one test at a time. We all know what can happen will.
This time just using Ninja notes, audio, and Wiley. Not going through the lectures this time. No time to waste…Going to see how it goes.
Back on topic: I can't go to the store (Wal-Mart) I don't know how to stop browsing, it's so hard to get re-focused once I go out for bread or paper towels, milk, etc. so I just go early in the a.m so I don't feel so bad for wasting study time.

Heidi-OMemberLsnyc – So I take it your dog isn't Lassie? That's ok, if she was, she would be retrieving help to show up at your door!
Ibi8 You are doing very well at this. Don't psych yourself out!! It killed me the last two times, it's not worth it!! You've come too far and you are going kill this thing – look at your other exam scores!! Wow!! You are 3/4 of the way there (I say 3/4 because you've already studied the REG material!! Just keep on moving!! Or drink a few beers and call it a night! Pick it up tomorrow!! When is your exam?

LoveEventingMemberI need some advice, guys. REG is (hopefully) my last section of the exam, and the one that frightens me the most. I'm not a tax person… at all. Part of the reason for this is that I feel tax is just a bunch of memorization. There does not seem to be much logic to this stuff (meaning no concepts to base the rules on), and I am HORRIBLE at memorizing things. Does anyone have any advice for someone trying to pass REG that has no memorization skills? Any good sources to bring some logic to this test?
Feeling hopeless… 🙁

FAR - 63, 83
REG - 55, 79FINALLY DONE!

LSNYCMember@LoveEverything – I see you don't love REG 😉 Kidding! Honestly there is a little logic in the business law section its the tax section that makes me want to hurt someone! Who thinks of this stuff??? Honestly try to memorize the basic rules and keep the different rules for different entities (individual, partnership, C corp, S Corp ect) . Good luck and hopefully you are done soon!
So I got off from work early today and was like i am going to relax till 5 and then hit the books to start y power weekend…. well i should never have relaxed i feel asleep! So i am just starting now studying! Oh well hopefully i will be able to stay up later and not crash as early thanks to my nap!

lmendez2MemberHello everyone! I have some questions regarding C Corp and S Corp items, and I was wondering if someone can help me.
C-Corp for Section 1231, 1245 and 1250 based on my research and a couple of videos that I saw from Yaeger (I am using Becker but looked at Yeager on youtube for extra items) I really don't have an issue with 1231 or 1245 but 1250 is giving me a hard time, if you have a 1250 asset placed after 1986 you must recapture ordinary income under section 291? which is 20% of the depreciation taken and the rest will be 1231 gain? and if you place an asset before 1987 you have to recapture ordinary income as the difference between depreciation using ACRS and S/L? so the difference will be your ordinary income and the rest is 1231 gain? HELP!!!
S-Corp the AAA account, Becker does not really explain so I looked online but based on my homework the AAA account only comes into play when the S-Corp was originally a C-Corp? So you first use all of your AAA account to make distributions, 2nd you use the C-Corp E&P, 3rd any excess is reduction of basis = return of capital and finally if you still distributed beyond all that it will be capital gain? I am confuse with the AAA account any help is highly appreciated it! If you have Becker I am looking at page R3-58
Thanks!
