Member@icanhazcpa Oh No!!! It always seems like my animals get sick on weekends or holidays when I have to pay extra for an emergency vet. Is your puppy ok?
@stokey45 Yes!! Welcome to the world of intense studying!! Sometimes you have to take a break from the material. It helps to energize you a little. But the closer the test day comes for me, the worst I get too. All the questions of “Did I study enough?” “Did I have all the correct material?” “Am I prepared for this?” But you got to remember, you are climbing over a very large mountain and when you get totally frustrated and exhausted – just think about how you are going to feel will you enter in your test information on the NASBA site and see the word “Passed”! Only you will know if you are truly ready for the exam and it is a mental game. If you need move the test date, move it. 🙂 It's cheaper to move than to pay to re-take.

MemberShe's fine, thank you for asking! They gave her a few shots to make her feel better until we can get her to our regular vet tomorrow. She just started feeling better and is eating and drinking now. They said it was likely some kind of bronchitis but I wasn't about to pay what you have to pay at that place to do tests.
And stokey I feel the same way. I took the majority of today off from studying because of the pup and I just couldn't focus. It's always like you feel guilty every second you don't study so you can't even relax even though you need to.

Member@icanhazcpa Has she had her kennel cough vaccine? It may just need to be antibiotics and meds to help her. I had that happen to one of my dogs when she was 9 weeks old, it was rough but after about a week (and treatment) she got better. She's now 10 and believes that I have No Clue when she has been on the sofa. She sees herself as Ninja dog. I wish you well. 🙂

MemberI'm not sure really, we just take her to Petsmart she has the plan where you pay 20 bucks a month and they do all her stuff for free. So we take her in once a year and they just do whatever they need to. I know that they gave her an antibiotic today, so that by itself might make her better. I'll report back when I know more tomorrow. And maybe even have a tax question :p Sorry about highjacking the thread everyone

ParticipantThanks Heidi-O and icanhazcpa.
I just had a little melt down. I am better today and back doing what I should be doing today. I have been at this CPA studying process for quite some time. I have, now, passed all of the exams but lost 2 scores because of the 18 month rule.
REG was the first exam I passed back in 2010 and I feel as if I did not retain a lot of this information. But I have to say, some of it is familiar, so that is a good thing.
I wanted to ask if anyone knows how much of the Alt. Min. Tax is tested? I am using Becker to review and I have not see a tremendous amount of questions on this subject. If anyone has info, will you please let me know?

ParticipantOops! I found the information in my Review book.
It says:
The CPA Exam has focused the majority of their questions concerning individual alternative minimum tax on
1)Exemption Formula
2)Distinguishing “adjustments” from “preferences”
3)The AMT credit carryforward period
4)Credits available to reduce AMT
Has anyone heard anything different from what I read?

Member@icanhazcpa Life gets in the way of studying all the time! That's why it's nice to be on a board where people are going through the same stuff. Too bad you can't list your pets as dependents, they can be expensive!!!
@stokey45 Sorry to hear that you lost your credits, that must be frustrating. As far as telling you about what they test the CPA and the specifics, we can't tell you (those of us who have taken it). It's against the rules. Just make sure that you UPDATE your Becker material – even the 2013 book has updates that they needed to put in. And look at this way, at least you are learning all the new tax rules that have gone into effect this year! You'll be ahead on your own personal tax planning!!
Back to the notes and exam tests!! Wahoo!!! (facetious statement).
