@cournae and @jw_83- I am using Gleim as well. I passed FAR with it and I am hoping to pass the rest of the exam parts with it as well. I am just finishing up Study Unit 1 and plan to try and do 3 units per week. I am certainly a little slow this week because I caught a cold (who gets a cold in the summertime for god's sake?!?). I am planning to sit for REG in August as well. Glad to see some more Gleim folks out there!

I m on R1 in Becker and trying to differentiate between qualified and nonqulified options (p.72-75). If i get a question on the exam that asks me to determine whether an option is nonqualified or qualified (or if i have to calculate gain, adj. basis, income), what should I look for? what are the major differences between those two? I am looking at the two examples on p. 73 and 74 and I m not sure I could tell the difference when calculating adjusted basis and gain. This probably is a stupid question but they look very similar to me.

    FAR - Apr 2013 - PASSED
    REG - Oct 2013 - PASSED
    AUD - Apr 2014 - PASSED
    BEC - May 2014 - PASSED

    Hi OneStep@Time-

I believe there are only two types of qualified ESPP and ISO and it will be stated on the question so if it does not say that it is one of those two it must be a nonqualified option.

I hope I am right that is the way I am learning this!

    FAR 5/29/13 75
    REG 7/27/13 84
    BEC 08/31/13 84
    AUD 11/02/13 89

@jw and @cooper – I agree, I have been feeling like I am in the minority for using Gleim, but so far it has been working! (again..knock on wood)

I got such a slow start with REG..the material is just so dry and confusing with a rule, exception, exception to the exception, etc…

I'm also not sure if for the exam, we are expected to know the exact rates or phaseout amounts, or if we are only expected to know the general concepts surrounding them. It just seems like there are so many thresholds..rates..and floors…that it would be impossible to memorize them all.

Right now I am about halfway through SU6. 17 days to get through 14 more units plus final review… Seems impossible right now!

Has anyone else had trouble logging into Becker this morning, tried three computers and keep getting error messages. CPA induced rage coming on.
