I don't know why I didn't think of this before, but I just logged onto my NASBA account and the score is in there. I doesn't say credit like my other parts, but it says passed, 86 (I thought I failed). So I am done now. Weird that is was never emailed to me.

I failed REG with a 66! I was comparable on all topics except, ethics, business law, and federal tax process. I seriously walked out thinking I passed (or at least did really really good on the multiple choice). Simulations were tricky. Wiley had a similar simulation like the one I had in the exam, but didn't go over it like I was suppose to! So disappointing. Anyways, mailing out my application and $50 check to BOA today. Plan to sit for REG in July. I haven't passed any part and I'm really feeling like this is impossible to pass! I really gave it my all for REG (took business law lightly though).

Is anybody else totally confused by PALs… Passive income…Business income/non business CG/CL…NOLs…. It is all meshing together for me and I can't seem to comprehend any of it! I remember learning this in college like 4 semesters ago… but I guess it has completely left my brain. Does anyone have any good tips, links, or can anyone try to dumb it down briefly for a good way to remember/differentiate all of this?

For like kind exchanges of property. Is the recognized gain “the lesser of realized gain or boot received” or “the lesser of realized gain or NET boot received”?

I thought it was the first one, lesser of realized gain or boot received and this has been the answer for most of the MCQ's it relates to, but there was one MCQ for a like kind exchange, where one party assumed a liability (which is boot paid) and the other party assumed a liability (which is boot received) and in this situation, they netted the boot to get net boot received and the answer explained it as gain recognized is “the lesser of realized gain or NET boot received”.

Does any one know why in this case it was different?
