@determined1 – Welcome to my life :). Don't rely on becker – srry becker. Wiley, IRS, Another71, AICPA, NASBA. I believe the amounts are 6 months prior to beginning of test window. Knowing the 12-13 is a pain but it is the nature of the beast 🙁

Let me know what you come up with.

@Importracr317 re: “It sounds pretty straight forward, but what if one subsidiary has a NOL?”

If one or more have NOLs, use those losses to offset income of other (profitable) affiliates. Basically, sum all the profits and subtract NOL/s to arrive at consolidated taxable income.

Becker Class of Jan - Aug 2013: FARB DONE!!!!
    CPA license pending 🙂

Hi ! what do you mean don't relay on becker and I believe the amounts are 6 months prior to beginning of test window. Knowing the 12-13 is a pain but it is the nature of the beast 🙁

(starting to feel the same way about becker, just got my score for REG -69!!)

I felt my exam questions were a easier than what becker what telling me to prepare for but i studied on the hard stuff but got very basic questions that becker encouraged not to waste time on.

Any suggestions on how to re study for REG…took it on 5/30 score 69

Feeling so discouraged and want to just throw in the towel on cpa. I spent so much time in library, My husband and kids really took the punch on this exam while I was studying. Missed too many bedtimes and everything else just so that I could focus on exam and pass.

I don't know what I should be doing different to pass this time since I did feel very well prepared.

Any tips or suggestions are appreciated! THanks

Thank you, I will definitely try what you did. I'm just so worried now becuase I took REG back in November and only got a 56…I feel like I have wayyyy too much improving to do…But I have faith!

For AUD, this time I decided to purchase the NINJA 10 point combo…in addition to that my coworker who had recentky passed AUD passed on her condensed notesto me.

I had roughly 2 and a half months to study for REG while working full-time, and caring for my 1 year old.

So for the first 6 weeks or so, I used becker and after each individual lecture I would complete the corresponding MC's right after. For the las month I purchased ninja, listened to the audio about twice, rewrote the ninja notes twice and used the wiley test bank daily.

The only thing I used becker for in the last month was the final exams. For each question I got wrong, using both Becker and Wiley, I would write down quick notes (1 to 2 sentences) to understand the right answer.

Also, with the Wiley test bank you can see which topics you are weaker in, and choose to do pop quizzes and practice tests on specific areas you feel you need more work on.

    AUD: 66, 67, 87!!
    REG: 56, 63, 84!!
    FAR: 72, 78!!
    BEC: 71, 75!!

Hi! Do we need to know 2012 numbers or 2013 numbers? For example, the gift tax exclusion according to Wiley Test Bank is $14,000 for 2013 vs $13,000 for 2012. Thanks in advance! Happy studying everyone!

    BEC: 84 (Becker Self-Study, WTB)
AUD: 97 (Becker Self-Study, Ninja Audio, WTB)
REG: 73 (CPAExcel), 85 (Becker Self-Study, Ninja Audio, WTB)
    FAR: May 5(Becker Self-Study, WTB)
