Member@Heidi Yes! Thanks for reminding me. I knew there were a couple others that I was forgetting. I do remember reading about the increased lifetime gift and increased IRA deduction (now 5,500 instead of 5,000). I have that info printed out and haven't read it for a few days.
@Insiyah – that makes me feel better!! Those scores were getting discouraging, but I was also doing as you said…reading why i got it wrong and learning from my mistakes. The sims in Gleim seem like they're going to be easy because they are mostly drop downs and what not, but they are tough. Thanks for sharing!
@Mike – from my understanding, I believe that that particular adjustment for AMT is no longer needed, unless of course the taxpayer is over 65 and had used the 7.5%.
Does anyone know for sure if I am correct with that assumption? Since medical deductions are now 10%, the AMT adjustment dealing with medical no longer exists?

MemberI'm going to re-listen to all of the Becker lectures during down time when I can't actively study 8 or so days before the exam, so about a chapter a day. I'm trying to determine the order I should listen to the chapters. Should I listen to what I'm stronger in first and my weak chapters closer to exam day? Should I listen in order chapter 1 thru 8? Or should I listen to the Law chapters first and the Tax chapters last since Tax is more important on the exam?

MemberCome On MRS BING!!! You can DO this!! Especially if you have to listen to the two lecturers that sound like they have colds when they talk (argghhh)! If it were me, I would listen to my weaker chapters first, so that my mind had a few days to process some of the information – sometimes things stick after a few days and the comments start to make more sense. I would also make sure that I am doing at least some questions from the tax area too – so you don't lose too much of that. You Can Do THIS!!
@WestonM Biggest piece of advice is to make sure that you practice question, practice questions, practice questions… and to add to what @Insiyah24 says, don't just look at why you got a question right, understand why the other answers are wrong – especially if it is a non-calculation question (and yes, I did say right, because we tend to focus only on the wrong ones). It helps to enforce your knowledge (especially on law and the other fun verbal topics!)
@Mikecuh The test that I took may not be the test that you will take. Based on some of the comments that people have made in the test experience section, some of us had completely different exams. And yes, if the medical expense floor is 10% then that means that you do not have to an adjustment for the AMT, if its 7.5% then you do.
Good Luck Guys!! I know you've put a lot of hard work into studying for this, and panicking over the responses from some of our test experiences…. it's your time to Kill this Beast!! We need you to show others that it can be done!!
May you have a Zen moment during the full exam and may your most difficult question be “Can Martha claim her dogs as dependents if she gets a Social Security number for them?” 😉
