MemberYeah i am using Wiley Test Bank and Becker 2012 for REG. My Becker expires as well next year Feb. So for the other sections i will be using Wiley because it is way cheaper and even though Becker is really good i can't afford! Also, it is very helpful to keep doing the final exams in your study materials before your exam. It really prepares you for the exam! Especially with the time restraints…

Memberpri – I believe its same thing.
Ok In the Wiley example – it is assuming that most business are going have the Charity cost already deducted from the P&L to get Net Income. IE this is Taxable Income after Charity Expenses are deducted.
So in order to get what the tax allowable deductible expense for charity is you need to add back the charity cost to the net income so that you can determine what the 10% allowable amount is.
The Ninja notes is stating “Taxable Income BEFORE Charitable Contributions” – that means the Net Income does not have the cost deducted therefore its straight 10% to get the taxable allowable charity cost.
Its just one is saying okay assume charity cost was already expense so in order to know what really is allowable you need to add back and then do the 10% calculation.
The Second is assuming the cost was NOT expense there fore you do the 10% calculation to get what is allowable.
Am I making sense ?

InactiveSign me up for this study group. REG is my last test and AUD expires in July14. I am using wiley book, ninja notes and audio, and wiley online test bank. I'm going to post my plan and in a perfect world a few of you would join me on said plan. I have passed three in a row and don't intend to let REG be any different. The basis of the plan is to spend the next 7 weeks breaking through the material writing ninja notes and using the Wiley book MCQ, then two weeks of review. I stay current by doing MCQ on material already covered in the test bank. I'm going to study in order of the Ninja notes and sections I, II, and III are due on 12/15…XVIII and XVIV due on 1/26. Three sections a week due each Sunday and you must have written the notes out and answered a significant amount of MCQs by the due date. I use the Wiley book on my first pass to define “significant amount of MCQs. I am willing to host a weekly status call if it helps keep people accountable. Else, I will simply post every Sunday that I have done my work. ONWARD!

MemberI start tonight with R1 in Becker. Planning on about 7 weeks total, including 2 for a final review. Going to spend a week each on R5 and R6 as they seem very in depth, and those 2 weeks are Christmas/right after so I'm building in a bit of a buffer for assumed lost time.
This is my last section and I lose BEC on 4/30/14 and AUD on 5/30/14. I want to get this done!
– to Edit: I've been reading through the REG posts and am seeing a lot of “Becker does not fully cover everything it should for REG”. Anyone that has taken it recently: would supplementing with the Wiley book MCQ's/SIMs be enough?
A - 10/28/12 - Passed!!!
B - 11/20/12 - Passed!!!
F - 11/12/13 - Passed!!!
R - 02/01/13 - Passed!!!Work Experience - Done!
Ethics Exam - Boom! Done!RI Licensed CPA.

MemberOn a 7 Week Plan too.
Aiming to sit the exam on 27th Jan 🙂
On one of the threads above I put a sample line of what my REG Study plan is going to looks like
Even though this is for all the CPA course _ I am following the one for REG. – Its about 5 weeks of studying the material etc and then 2 weeks of review / practice – fixing up any weak areas and just getting blue in the face with practice questions
Created with Compare Ninja

InactiveSo I scored a 71 in REG 🙁 I found out Saturday and what upsets me is that in the content area, I scored either stronger or comparable. The only weak area is simulations but if I know the content how were my simulations weaker!! I scheduled my exam for Jan 10, and began studying yesterday… Here we go again….
