Am 20% through my lesson plan on CPA Excel. Feel cautiously confident so far, but am surprised at how much business law and regulation there is. I had the idea in my head that it'd be a little law, and tons and tons of tax, definitely caught me off guard with the amount of material on business law.

Still have quite a bit of business law to get through, then on to federal taxation. Good luck all!

Sign me up for this study group as well. My test is scheduled for 1/11 started studying about 2 weeks ago trying to do 30 hours a week plus working 40 hours a week minimum and commuting anywhere from 2-5 hours a day. FUN FUN FUN!!

Hey Everyone! I took FAR on 11/20 and am hoping to have passed, if so, I will be taking REG hopefully before the end of January. So looking forward to participating on this forum!

Question for you guys, I was fortunate enough to be able to use Becker materials for FAR, but it has now expired. I have the books but know other material. I am thinking about reading the Becker books and then using the Wiley CPA test bank to study for the remaining tests. Do you guys think this will work?

Other option is maybe trying this other thing I found called Fast Forward Academy. Anyone ever heard of or used that?

I have problems keeping like-kind exchanges and partnership/corp basis straight. Someone on the forums mentioned doing journal entries to help with understanding. I know I haven't worked enough problems with a solid understanding of the formulas.

AMT is also a challenge for me to remember. Jeff has a short video on youtube about AMT that I found helpful.

I took REG last week even though I wasn't fully prepared. I plan to keep studying until score release so I can work on weak areas if I have to re-take.

@ alfred_dark – i am kind of surprised if you took ur exam 11.20.13 you should have gotten your results by now.

@ Qlad – I am going to start doing REG review seriously from Monday.

@ 10Key – I hope you have passed.. if not its nice to be once again in the study group with you. We were together in AUD back in June/July. But I do hope you have passed since it would be really nice to see you be done with the CPA exams 🙂

@InsiWinsi I actually took it this Thursday Dec 5th, I was wondering how most people did on their exam and levels of difficulty they faced, so I posted my case to see if someone had the same case as mine and passed so I would raise my hopes up 🙁

Ohhh I see. Well its so hard to tell but all i can say is stay positive and know you did your best. You may have the CPA gods in your favor and give you a nice X mas present 🙂
