Good morning all. Just for some quick info on me……I have a few years of experience in public (audit) and have been using Becker for my study materials. I took AUD and BEC within the past few months and breezed through them with a 92 and 87, respectively. I recently started to study for REG and it is a very different experience for me. When I studied for AUD & BEC, I was regularly getting 70’s, 80’s and 90’s on MCQ’s on the first try and had a clear grasp on the SIMS. It was very natural to me, and although it required hammering out a lot of questions to fully understand some topics, it always felt logical to me and I always felt like I had a really solid comprehension of the material. In studying for REG, I don’t have anywhere near the same confidence level. I find myself stopping the lectures over and over to jot down extra notes and re-read concepts and rules/exceptions. I absolutely hated tax in college and I hate it even more now. Certainly not discouraged at this point because I’m just starting out and I know that it will start to come together at some point, but just wanted to seek advice from other who may have had similar experiences. The goal is to get it right the first time. I feel like this will be my biggest hurdle, so just wanted to hear from others who aren’t strong in tax anything that they might have done differently to get this exam behind them. Thanks very much for your time and best of luck to all.
