What part of the exam is giving you issues? Specific topics? Sims? Time management / pacing? Clocking hours is only so helpful. It's the quality of the study that counts. Are you using flashcards? Are you rewriting notes? Are you redoing lectures to get past the “overview” level and really getting into the nitty gritty details?

    AUD: PASS
    FAR: PASS
    REG: PASS

You are doing something wrong if you have put in 500 hours and have not come close a 75.

Reassess your study plan rather than the amount of hours you are doing.

@Constant: how are you studying. REG was my beast and I changed how I studied the second time and then again the third time before I passed. Let us know how you have studied in the past and we can give some advice on how to change your approach.

Make sure you do all of the Wiley test bank Sims. Copy and paste the questions and answers into Word and make sure you study them!

ok first time around did everything lectures took notes and did MCQ @ least 5 times + Sims….went into exam feeling pretty confident and got 62….second time I figured I'd give WIley a shot and practiced with Wiley Test Bank mainly got and used Becker Final review exams…..I used flash cards from becker as a refresher……and got a 62….I put in about 20-25 hours a week and I am pretty dedicated to this exam….but I just don't know what I am doing wrong….the MCQ on actual exam sometimes can be a little tricky for me and the Sims are never easy…but last test I had i thought I had knew them…guess not

When you do the MC I would suggest taking notes in short form. Not long lenghty notes but “fact nuggets”. Make sure you understand the theory behind the answers…both the right answer and why the wrong answers are wrong. Once you have those written go back through and rewrite them and then re-read them.

If you do not have it purchase the NINJA audio and notes. Listen to the audio every chance you get. Read the notes as many times as possible. Re-write the notes as well. Re-read and re-write your own notes.

Its not about the quantity of MC that you do its about understanding the theory behind them. Understanding the theory can help with the sims too!

I did all of that the third time around and it was the charm. The second time I studied I ditched the videos bought the Wiley book and just read the book and did MC. I got 11 more points than my first time. Unfortunately I needed 12 more to pass. Between the Wiley book and reading it – it forced me to pay attention and I took notes and endless MC with endless notes I was able to pass the third time.

You'll get there. If I can be of any other help just reach out!

I agree. I listened to the NInja audio nonstop. I purposefully scheduled exam for the afternoon so I could review the Law portion in the a.m. and still listened to the audio while I was studying. I felt like I was multi-tasking. I reviewed my tax simulations that I'd printed from Word and reviewed those right before I entered exam.

thanks guys, SMP73 I am happy that you were able to persevere through REG….if you don't mind me asking how was your set up for 3rd time around u passed…ur approach… I.E. amount of hours you put in, source of the Multiple Choice Questions did you use Becker or Wiley…..it was a real kick in the gut and set me back this time around because I felt like I have made no progression at all…….I have only passed BEC…and it is discouraging since I know FAR will be that much worse for me…

For REG, I studied the SIMs almost non-stop and took around 30 pages of notes on each chapter (i'd review that everyday).

I think if you study the SIMs (mainly in Wiely- b/c Becker's SIMs are not that great for REG), you will be able to get a better handle for MCQs…I think that's the main difference between REG whereas for AUD, you focused more on the MCQs…

500 hours is crazy, study smarter not harder…

    AUD- 97 1x
    REG- 81 1x
    BEC- 79 1x
    FAR- 88 1x

    DONE!

    10/1/12 to 2/28/14
