REG Simulations, how to study?

    Hi,

    My exam is next Friday and I am nervous about the simulations. I use Becker. I saw a lot of people on the Forum say Becker’s simulations are easier and not worth to waste time on them. However, they do not seem easy to me! I usually score around 60% on those simulations.

    I am lost. I don’t know how to study for them.

    I went through every Sim in Becker and I honestly think I got 4 of the 6 on the test 100% correct (one of which was a research). The other two I felt like I was able to get 50-60% correct which was more than enough to give me the points necessary to pass. I won't say too much, but in my experience, Becker was definitely worth studying. A little luck in terms of the Sims being areas that I was strong in, but overall I was adequently prepared using Becker.

    I think the people who feel that Becker (or any of the other services for that matter) were insufficient, probably didn't put enough time in. At the end of the day, many people have passed using becker exclusivity…

    Also, don't be afraid to use the AL on test day! Definitely can't rely on it, but if you find yourself with some extra time you may want to dig through it. I found that to be helpful as well!

    @C.P.A the third
    Thank you so much for sharing your experience!

    Do you mind telling me more about how you study Becker Simulations?
    Do you do them first, and read solutions throughly and understand where you did wrong?

    Thanks again!

    Yeah, I go through each one and try to understand why I get things wrong, or why it wasn't another answer. The SIMS tend to trick me because you really need to know EVERYTHING in order to get the right answers. They often times try to throw curve balls your way, and unlike MCQs you can use the process of elimination. I always spend a lot of time practicing SIMS because I feel like it helps my brain get in the right “zone” to think about all the little details they may throw at you. It also helps you hone in areas that you may need additional work on. For me, I think it would be crazy to ignore the SIMS when you are studying (especially down the wire).

    The fact of the matter is, you don't know what questions you are going to be asked for MCQs or SIMS. The only thing you can do is practice (and pray). @EZ claims to have been “bitchslapped” yet he/she got a 79…

    Maybe doing all the SIMS helped him/her not completely tank the SIMS more than he/she did, or maybe it helped with the MCQs so it didn't matter that he/she bombed the SIMS?
