From what I’ve gathered the sims for Reg focus on becker sections 1-4 (Individual, Corp, and Partnership Tax). For example, if their is an AMT tax problem are we expected to know the exemption calculation amounts for 2013?

Also any other tips you think would be helpful, please share!

    BEC: 93 4/18/13
    FAR: 89 7/3/13
    REG: 90 8/30/13
    AUD: 95 11/29/13

    DONE!

Quite honestly, I practiced the Becker Simulations once each while I studied for REG. As people say, you absolutely never know what you're going to get on the exam as a simulation.

My best advice to you would be work the MCQ and to get an idea of the calculations. I'd also get a good enough knowledge base of the terminology (ex: what is “at-risk”, etc.)

I know on the exam I took last month, I had 2 fairly easy research questions, one simulation that I made some obvious mistakes on (after looking at my Becker book after) and another simulation that I had SOME knowledge of, but I wasn't too sure of the terminology.

The other two sims I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. The best thing that you can do on those is leave yourself enough time so you can search through the authoritative literature, and make your best reasoned answer.

Think of it this way; the fact that they give you the AL on your other non-research sims means something. They're practically giving you a very complex-reading textbook. Use it as much as you can.

I have not heard of or seen Sims on the business law section.

In my experience, REG sims are the most difficult out of the 4 exams. I have seen sims that were out of the left field that Becker barely touch. (IMO) the best way to prepare is to practice using the IRC as much as you can. That is the only thing that can help you when the examiners throw question that you may not have an idea how to answer.

    REG - 72, 72, 81
    BEC - 77
    FAR - 70, 81
    AUD - 74 "so that's what it feels like." Round 2: 79

Passing the exam is not impossible task. GIVING UP is the only way YOU can make it impossible!

Just be ready to have no idea how to do them, unless you are a genus. I couldn't find a single answer in the IRC, and I had no idea how to do any of my problems. I still managed to pass though.
