    Hi!

Can a taxpayer make a 179 election in multiple years? For example, if a taxpayer buys a machine and applies the $25k deduction in year 1, can the taxpayer apply the same deduction again in year 2?

    Thanks!

I'm studying this too, so please help me clarify –

Is the original question asking if another section 179 deduction can be taken on the SAME equipment the following year? If so, the answer is no, correct?

I'm assuming that the “yes” response was saying that you can take another section 179 in a DIFFERENT piece of equipment the following year, correct?

    thanks!

    FAR - 86 - 2/27/14
    AUD - 75 - 5/29/14
    BEC - 80 - 8/31/14
    REG - 89 - 2/27/15
    Praise Jesus! I'm done!!
