REG Retake – Ethics & Legal Responsibilities

    Good day everyone,

I just get back my failed test grade report, which is a little surprising..

I need some advice on how to study for Ethics & Legal Responsibilities (15-19%), which showed as “weaker”…

For some reason, I though I did really badly on law and taxation, but

    Business Law (17-21%) Comparable

    Federal Tax Process (11-15%) Stronger

    Taxation on Property Transactions(12-16%) Comparable

    Taxation on Individuals (13-19%) Stronger

    Taxation on Entities (18-24%) Comparable

I am not sure how reliable is the score report when you only miss pass with couple point, but it said ethics and legal responsibilities put me down. Any clue how to study on that?

Also, any advice on re-take will be great. My plan is to wind up auditing in beginning of July and then regulation again in August. I am currently doing an auditing project in my workplace and I am also taking a service test on auditing in June. I guess it make sense to do auditing first…Anyone think two month (maybe 10-15 hours per week) for AUD is a little too short? And if I spend one month for REG review (10-15 hours per week) it will be too rush?

    Thanks everyone!

My opinion is that you study for a retake as if it were your first time. It will not be the same exam you already took and therefore you need to start from scratch. If you studied 140 hours the first time (as an example) I'd plan on another 140 for a retake.

2 months for aud would probably be ok at no less than 15 hours a week. 10 per week would only be about 80 hours total and I don't think that's enough.

    REG -56,75!

The Ninja MCQs have a lot of good Ethics & Legal responsibility questions. I think one month spent on REG (10-15 hours per week) will be rushing it a bit. I am doing 8 weeks for REG and 20-30 hours per week. Probably a bit of overkill, but I want to be guaranteed a pass for my last exam.

Well, I know that a month with 10-15 hours per week is a little too rush. I hope I can increase the hours of study too. I spend over 15 weeks on REG doing 20 hours, I don't know why I didn't make it. I think I was too tired by the time I get to the test. I was not fully awake and my brain was not functioning much.

In my mind: Sleeping > Studying and working. Right now I can barely sleep for 6 hours, so I don't think I will sleep any less than that. Afterward, I still need to work the next day.

Hopefully I can do 20 hours per week if I study 5 hours each days on Saturdays and Sundays. And maybe 3 hours here and there on weekdays. I think I will eventually make it, if I don't pass AUD and REG I will just retake them in Q4.

You need to get 5hr min in on the weekends. Trust me I know how hard it is to fit in, I was working full time at one job, weekends at a part time job, have 2 kids and was taking grad classes at the same time. I STILL managed to get in 15 hours per week (1.5 hours each weekday and 4 hours each on Saturday and Sunday. If I could fit it in anybody can.

I agree with mla1169. For REG, I do 6 hours each day on Saturday and Sunday, 4 hours each day Monday through Thursday, and 1 hour on Friday. Monday through Friday, I get in one hour on my lunch each day, then Monday through Thursday I study for 3 hours at night. Comes out to 29 hours per week. I think being dedicated to your plan is about half the battle. The other half is retaining the information of course.

I will try. I think finding the time is 1/4 of the battle, 3/4 of the battle is how much my brain can remember (while not overwork) and still sleep enough.

I am pretty sure I can make it to 15 hours each week…if I sleep well. I was just kinda worry because I am trying to fit two test in one test period. My sister said I can because I have excellent memory (if my brain is fully awake) and she said my job is going to help me on auditing..

In general, the more I can sleep, the better I can study.

If I can keep at least 6-7 hours of sleep I can say I will pass my test for sure (even with 15 hours each week).

Life is pretty simple: Sleep -> Eat -> Study on train (1 hour) -> Intensive working -> Eat -> Intensive working -> sleep on train (too tired) -> Take a break (shower, read e-mail, etc) -> Eat -> Study until I pass out (2-3 hours)-> Sleep

Life just repeat itself. Man.. the only thing I read on the web now is TB, another 71 , train schedule, weather, and my e-mail!

I just hope I can pass both of them in the same time… in 3 months…

I guess I need to do less talking and more studying!

You can do it, yellowsugar! I agree with your comment you made above regarding life repeating itself. I feel like my life is just one long day that runs together. It will end soon though and it will all be worth it!
