REG – Research Question Exam Format

For FAR and AUD, I used the AICPA literature to answer research questions while studying. For REG, they don’t have the tax code. I use the Cornell law site. I don’t particularly like it though, there is no search function and I can’t narrow down my search enough.

The question is: how is this research question handled in the actual exam? Is there the tax code with a search function, or is it like the cornell site where I just have to know where to go?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    FAR - 07/07/2016 - 81
    BEC - 08/23/2016
    AUD - 10/05/2016
    REG - 11/23/2016

The format in the exam is just like it was with AUD, where you have the “advanced search” function. I don't think you need to worry about practicing for it since you've done research sims before.

I would also like to know as well. IRS.gov takes me to cornell law site. Just figuring out what section to search and find particular information takes long time.
