    Wow. I think I just realized how I lost points on my last REG exam for NOT properly citing the IRC on my Research Question.

    I did a little research about how to properly cite the “Section” (###) and “Subsection” (a) of the IRC.I found out that you can only cite the SUBSECTION with a lowercase letter such as (a) (b) or (c). However, on my prior exam I cited the SUBSECTION with an UPPERCASE letter (A)!!!

    Can someone please confirm that you MUST cite all SUBSECTIONS with a lowercase letter on the RESEARCH question?? I have a feeling I lost some really easy points because of the stupid error I made.

    Thanks everyone and goodluck studying.

    Sorry, the TITLE of my post automatically capitalized the (a) Subsection. LOl.

    Thanks everyone.

    Yes, you need to use a lowercase letter. I actually looked it up yesterday because citing from the IRC is unlike other CPA exam parts where you have like 4 citations. Also, I'm pretty sure that Gleim kept changing my answer to a lowercase letter in a research question.

    But do you recall if the test actually accepted the capitalized letter? In Becker and in Gleim, it automatically changes it for you, I think.

    BEC = 72 (6/08/16)
    FAR = ?
    REG = ?
    AUD = ?

    Thanks for your feedback. Yes, Becker automatically changes the citation to a lowercase as well. However, I am almost positive I entered an uppercase A into the subsection box during my prior exam. I could be wrong, but that’s what I remember inputting.

    Goodluck and thanks for confirming my thoughts. I won’t make that mistake again!!

    Btw? Did you pull the trigger on that supplemental test bank for REG? I ended up getting Gleim and like it so far. It's kicking my butt but I am learning.

    BEC = 72 (6/08/16)
    FAR = ?
    REG = ?
    AUD = ?

    Unfortunately I did not make another purchase because I am super broke and in debt. Paying $3000+ for Becker was very costly. If I wasn’t in debt, I would pick up Ninja-Scout for REG. Hope your Gleim supplements give you that extra boost!

    Goodluck.

    Blue,

    Good news. In my REG exam yesterday I remembered reading this thread and decided to see what would happen if I put in a capital letter. It automatically changed it to lower case for me – I could not force in a capital. So you're good.
