Would I have enough time to study for Reg if I start today and take it on 8/31? I start my full-time job on July 30th and we’ll be on vacation all next week, so I doubt I’ll get too much studying done until after the vacation

If you start today, put a plan in place and stick to it, it should be doable. 6 weeks is enough time. However, already knowing that you will lose a full week on vacation AND that you are starting a new job right after that would make me hesitant. You are going to have a lot of changes in your life with the new job and just getting into a new routine will be tough. I have been studying for REG since the beginning of June. I work full time and have been taking a tax class this summer to finish up my license requirements. I had the test scheduled for 7/19 and just rescheduled it today for 8/2. I just am not ready. I would say, start studying now but be prepared to be flexible with everything you have going on. If you make it by 8/31, GREAT! If not, another window opens in September. It all depends on your situation and how much study time you can carve out.

You know yourself, and since you are asking, I'm sure you have it in the back of your mind that you are more than capable of pulling it off. Just make a plan and stick to it.

Now what the hell do I do?

It is very doable. Make sure to eat, sleep and breath chapters 1-4. Review chapters 5-7 as time allows but make sure to understand securities and contracts.

Thanks for the replies! I'm gonna keep the exam date for 8/31 and study like crazy once vacation ends

I sure hope its possible since I only have a total of 3 weeks. I'm putting in on average 3-4 hours daily, but will be going to 6-8 this next week. Fingers crossed. Good luck to you!

I think it is possible. I typically study 4 to 5 weeks for each test.
