REG-new rate for AMT

    Hi, i saw that they have the new rate for AMT exemption from 45,000 to 72,450. So on the test, which rate do we use?

    Depends when you are taking the test which rates to use, but I'd say you should use 2011 rates until mid 2012 . I dont think the exam will focus on tax rates/exemptions that change with inflation, etc every year (AMT).

    2011 MFJ is $74,450, 2012 will be $45,000

    2011 Single/HOH is $48,450, 2012 will be $33,750
