I have reg, my last part, in 2 weeks but for some weird reason I’m completely calm about it?

I have to be underestimating this part based on others responses but I think FAR had some weird effect on me. I can’t stop thinking about that awful long experience….

I have the opposite feeling. I absorbed FAR like a sponge and actually enjoyed the material. I am struggling mightily with REG with just 2 weeks to go. I too have very little tax experience but FAR was my bread and butter at work.

    BEC - 12/13
    FAR - 5/14
    AUD - 8/14
    REG - 2/15

I have REG in a week and am totally freaked out about it. Mostly because I had to learn the material in a short amount of time and don't want to postpone the test. And don't wanna fail either! But a lot of this stuff is new/challenging to me.

    AUD: 84
    FAR: 75
    BEC: 78
    REG: 75

I think FAR is the hardest portion… at least due to the magnitude of content

REG is harder for me than FAR was. FAR has a lot of material, but a lot of it was at least covered in some of my college classes. I took individual tax once, no corporate tax, and my blaw classes were a joke. REG is kicking my butt.

I agree with @CPAMommyof3. I found REG to be more difficult than FAR not only because I didn't see as much of it in college, but also because the tax portion of the exam isn't logical to me. I have a very analytical brain, and tax law just follows a political agenda and doesn't always follow a pattern.

Although, the magnitude of content in FAR definitely pounds REG into the sand.

    AUD 79 (7/14)
    FAR 78 (7/14)
    REG 78 (8/14)
    BEC 81 (10/14)

I have REG a week from tomorrow and am starting to feel the pressure a bit, but am not too worried about it. I have a strong tax background though, and little to no financial accounting background, so FAR was definitely harder for me. I've still got some work to do on the business law stuff for REG, but feel fairly comfortable with the tax stuff (Corp tax is going to be a bit of an issue, but I think I'm okay with individual and pass-through tax).

For what it's worth, I've heard of others say some of the other parts were a breeze, but I had to work a bit harder at them. I think it all depends on your background, learning style, etc.

I took Reg yesterday. I generally did the pratice exams in about an hour and a half. But I took the FULL 3 hours yesrterday. I went through the questions,, marked a ton for follow up, and then went back through them again. 45 minutes for the first two sections and realized I was running out of time so the 3rd section was in a quick 30. Be sure to really read the entire question. Make notes of specific words. The devil is in the details.

I forgot this is a 3 hr exam. How are we supposed to get through 90 mcq's and 7 sims in 3 hrs!

    @Cracked – it's only 72 & 6. 🙂

3 hours is VERY manageable. Leave a little over an hour for the SIMS. I left right at an hour, and (of coarse) had something on there that I really struggled with. Answered everything else and then went back to that question. Filled everything out and the exam actually timed out…. Hopefully everything turned out

Good to know it's 24 and 6. For my last three exams, I've used every available minute. Let's hope I don't run out of time on this one!

For REG, I think I had 2 or 3 minutes to spare. I ran out of time during the BEC writing and still passed.

Time management is crucial. It's easy to get stuck on multiple choice. I try to budget my time between testlets and leave ample time for SIMS. That's 40% of your grade.

I found REG more difficult to study for mainly due to not taking any tax courses in college. You also really need to have a more detailed knowledge of REG with the various rules, laws, exceptions, etc. whereas with FAR you could get away with learning general concepts.

The exceptions to rules for REG seem to be way more annoying than the exceptions in FAR.

    FAR - 86 7/2014
    AUD - 95 10/2014
    REG - 87 1/22/15
    BEC - 84 7/2015

REG was a walk in the park compared to FAR for me.

I wish I'd have saved REG for my final exam.

    FAR: 65,49,61,74,78
    AUD: 65,68,64,78
    REG: 56,77
    BEC: 75
