Hey guys,

My planned scheduled date for REG is May 2nd. I’m currently only on Chapter 3 C Corporations in Becker and having a difficult time trying to understand all the different concepts. I’m able to get in 20+ hours a week and have been just the material isn’t sticking. Do you think it is possible being 5 weeks out that I could cover the remaing Tax Law and Business Law? I’m reluctant to push the exam date back since I wanted to retake AUD may 30th but there is no point in going into the exam feeling completely unprepared. Any suggestions or study strategy advice is welcome.

So you have 4 weeks to study for a AUD retake and only 5 weeks to study for REG? Do you need that long to study for a retake?

Since you've probably already done all the lectures and problems once through, I think 2-3 weeks is sufficient for a retake. especially if it gives you 1 extra week for REG.

I think it's doable. The first 5 Becker chapters are most important (not that the last 3 aren't, but they aren't as heavily tested). Try getting through all of your lectures, and reread each chapter and study it the same night of and day after each lecture to really solidify the information. Really focus on the first 5 chapters, have a decent understanding of the last 3, and drill MCQs over and over and over again.

My advice would be in the next 2 or 2.5 weeks, truck through the rest of the lectures, reread the chapters, and do a few MCQs for each section, just to make sure you're getting the concepts. Then the last 2.5 or 3 weeks use as review and just do MCQ after MCQ after MCQ and be sure to take notes on them. Each night after doing MCQs, reread the notes you took on them to solidify that information.

So I am in a little bit of a different situation since I took REG twice already. I Started studying last week and my exam is April 12th so a total of 21-22 days of study time. On my previous attempts I focused more on lectures and understanding concepts and not so much on mcq. This time I am only using the Becker final review, skim through the chapter then go do those mcq's in wiley test bank. This is the first time I use wtb and this strategy but I feel like I am understanding the concepts and problems more with this strategy. I plan on finishing all the wiley mcq's. So I will need to be going through 900 questions + material between now and April 12th, it's very dense but do-able.

@fuzzyfro–I can't tell where you are in the exam process or if you have ever had a retake, but if he has taken AUD twice already and not passed then I think 2-3 weeks for a retake probably isn't sufficient. That could be his problem child. Most of us have one exam that is just a PITA to pass and cutting your studying short because it's a retake isn't a good idea.
