    Hello,

I got the Yaeger audio lectures for REG a few days ago, and I have the Wiley 2012 book. I’ve read other people’s posts about understanding the concepts, but there’s A LOT of details in the book. How much should I know?

Hello Salma, I just started REG myself and it took me two weeks to do the Individual Tax chapter… it has a lot of information.I found that by doing the Wiley homework book it helped me figure out what are the amounts I need to remember and what i be aware of but not needing to remember.

I also make my own index cards so i can write down the important things. Later on I will do notes on this chapter just to reinforce the details.

I sit the exam Aug 31st and i am in serious panic mode…. I don't have that much time to learn all the chapters if it take me that long to learn one chapter LOL.

@ insiyah I am also in CA and taking REG on aug 31. I see that you have so many resources like WTB and Gleim test prep. I also have both and just finishing up on Indv tax with Gleim test prep and have been really doing below 50% on MC. Was wondering for REG do you use Wiley or Gleim Test prep.

    Hiya Dough,

I started with the Wiley Home work book first and i am right with you. I scored 50 on that LOL. I was like okay fine, next i started with Gleim – took like 20 questions at a time… I did like 43 on the first try then next batch I did 55 and next I did 60 so its like the more i do the questions, the more sense I am getting.

I learn better by doing the questions.Getting them wrong and then learning why.

I am starting to do Module 2 today with Roger just so i can keep the lectures going but at the same time I practice the questions from the ones I have already learnt from.

At some point I will do the re-writing my notes (well i do index cards)

I am aiming to have 3 weeks before the exam as full on review of just practice questions till I am blue ….

Thanks insiyah. I am in the same boat as you. I also have Roger. But my plan is a little different though. I started with Indv tax. My goal is first to wrap up all taxation topics and then come back and complete the business law. First I watch Roger lectures and read his notes only the main parts lol and then do all Gleim mc. And once I have mastered that module I go and do kinda progress test from wiley. So yesterday I pull 60 mc from wiley for Indv tax and found that things are making sense and scoring over 75% within the time limit. Gleim test prep may be a little difficult as it digs into more detail and compared to that tell you Wiley is a breeze but its only after you have mastered Gleim.
