BTW – Anyone feel that Gleim is very difficult? I have switched to Gleim TB, book, and SIMs for attempt #5.

Here’s my 8 week plan that’s already in play:

    -Listen to Ninja Audio constantly

-Read the chapters for the tax portion (I am confident in the blaw/ethics topics at this point)

-Do SIMs (book and online) for the tax portion only

-Do ALL the MCQs in the book and online test bank

    AND

-I have decided not to depend on/use the authoritative literature during the exam. Gleim has a very similar format to the actual exam, and the most comprehensive authoritative literature I have seen. While working Gleim SIMs, I am finding I am having no luck looking up answers..

    I jumped FAR from 71 to 76

    I jumped AUD from 71 to 75

Can I jump REG from 69-75???

    Last Chance CPA….

    FAR - 76
    AUD - 75
    BEC - 75
    REG - 76

Now I need some experience!!! And some networking...

Last Chance CPA – I highly stress. DO NOT FORGET ABOUT THE CHAPTER REGARDING PROPERTY TRANSACTIONS ! That is a really important chapter as some of the SIMs will require you to determine basis, gains, and losses from both monetary and nonmonetary exchanges. One of my Sims was like that on the exam and it was all fill in, no dropdown boxes. Also units 13-15 is important too as they are tax related. Partnership calculations is also tested heavily too so make sure to know that.

@skynet – Having taken REG 4x, I know exactly what I need to study, it's just about getting over the 75 hump. I am going to master PROPERTY TRANSACTIONS and PARTNERSHIPS, as well as INDIVIDUAL TAXATION. For tries and I am still ‘weaker' on Individual taxation! WTF. I can't do what turbo tax has done for me for years – lol.

@LastChance looks like a solid plan. I'm not sure about the amount of time your devoting to each part, but I would do as many MCQs as possible to prepare for the REG Sims.

REG can throw a Simulation at you about a simple topic in a million different way. It's a guarantee that if you can do whatever MCQ comes your way you can also do really well on the Simulations.

When the Simulations came up for my REG exam I was a little freaked out because they all seemed like something I had never read before. But after I started working them the concepts seemed really familiar.

    FAR - 91
    REG - 88
    AUD - 98
    BEC - 88

I am sure this exam must be super hard to pass for non-tax people. I am a tax accountant and for me this exam was one of the easiest so far. I think without arm-length experience in taxation field it is very hard to get through this exam (especially SIMS). You need to practice as many MCQs and SIMS as possible. Do not underestimate Blaw….easy points to get because SIMS are purely tax based.

@Nika_cpa – I know. I have had a very tough time, but hopefully the 5th and last time is a charm 🙂

BTW – I passed BEC on the 1st try using only Ninja MCQs and Audio/Notes. I guess I am with BEC how you are with REG, I knew the material fairly well to put me at 75 on the 1st try…good luck.

Yes. Good luck to you too! We are both waiting for our final scores. I am praying for 75! I do not want to face BEC material again:))
