Hi everyone – I just registered to post here. In February, I passed FAR with a 76 and just passed Audit early June with an 83 (using Becker). I'm starting REG now, and giving myself about 5 and a half weeks (I am studying full time before I begin work). I have experience in tax from prior internships, but still worried about this exam. I struggled with FAR and barely passed, so I'm worried these calculation and memory based subjects will be a challenge for me again.
Any tips on study strategies for REG as opposed to FAR and Audit? I tend to over-study the book (I took too long reading and taking notes at times). Mainly reading the textbook and taking notes is about half of my studying. Then maybe 30% is MCQs, 10% Mock exams, and last 10% progress tests and sims. I don't do many sims (just those on the mock, and maybe 1 for each chapter).
For REG, should I change my strategy at all? I've heard you should focus more on sims for REG, some say to focus more on the book, others say to just skim the book… Any suggestions would be great! Mainly worried about how to allocate my time, and what I should expect this time around.
