I'll be joining this topic in Forum – as I just failed this score release by 6 points less than 1st attempt back in Dec 2018. I'm laughing to myself right now – like WTH.. But I plan on retaking this test in a month and hope to get to know you guys along the way and we all pass this next time around 🙂

Hi everyone, I passed REG. Wanted to thank you all for your support. This has been a great group and great source of motivation especially from @tncincy , @23 , @74phoenix , @ali and the others. Getting post notifications from yall really got me going. Good luck to everyone and lets keep pushing. AUD is next for me. Hopefully there are nice people in that group too 🙂

@SIDIEULEVEUT, Great Score and congrats. 🙂
Hope study is going well for everyone. Today I am going all mcq's. I keep hesitating because I am not sure, but I know if I keep doing them something good has to happen.
Keep studying. I want to pass guys so I got to go desperate.

So Wiley is my main study material. Just started Property Transactions and want to know where to find 1031 Exchanges and Involuntary Conversions in the Ninja videos if anyone knows. I just want some clarification. I am getting a few right and a few wrong so there is something I am missing. Thanks in advance!

Goal is to retake Reg the first week of July as I think much of it is still fresh in my head. I've done about 75 cumulative questions after reseting my stats and Im trending at an 82 and averaging 76.(small sample size) Should I get another test bank or use the same one? I am currently using Surgent and after doing those 75 questions Im already back at the review phase. Thoughts? Anyone else giving themselves little time before a retake?

My goal today is to do as many mcq's as possible( 100 minimal). My weakness is still property transactions and capital gains and losses. I know 1231 but I keep getting caught on gains and losses. I am going over them again. I went to Farhat videos online, much better explanation. Hopefully, I can do better with property transactions and gains and losses. I need to do better on contracts as well. Study hard guys. I am doing mcq's only unless I am doing miserable. I may even conclude with Ninja notes.

My goal will also be 100 MCQs. I reviewed some notes today and did some MCQ – but it's going to take a lot of focus for me to pull off 100 MCQ on a nice day like today.

Hi everyone – I just registered to post here. In February, I passed FAR with a 76 and just passed Audit early June with an 83 (using Becker). I'm starting REG now, and giving myself about 5 and a half weeks (I am studying full time before I begin work). I have experience in tax from prior internships, but still worried about this exam. I struggled with FAR and barely passed, so I'm worried these calculation and memory based subjects will be a challenge for me again.
Any tips on study strategies for REG as opposed to FAR and Audit? I tend to over-study the book (I took too long reading and taking notes at times). Mainly reading the textbook and taking notes is about half of my studying. Then maybe 30% is MCQs, 10% Mock exams, and last 10% progress tests and sims. I don't do many sims (just those on the mock, and maybe 1 for each chapter).
For REG, should I change my strategy at all? I've heard you should focus more on sims for REG, some say to focus more on the book, others say to just skim the book… Any suggestions would be great! Mainly worried about how to allocate my time, and what I should expect this time around.

@futurecpa welcome! REG is another beast. Similar to FAR as in many concepts to grasp, formulas and calculations. However, business law and professional guidance don't have many calculations and those are more concept intensive. I would recommend bumping up your MCQ to about 50%. Go through the lessons and take notes. Review those notes and any notes you take while doing MCQ. I would practice SIMS but honestly those are hard to prepare for. Take the practice / mock exams. You should aim to have scores in the 80s.

100 MCQ today. This week I am focusing on individual taxation and professional rules. I may sneak in some Agency Law too. Tomorrow morning I aim to do at least 50 MCQ!

Go 74Phonix! You are showing the stamina needed to pass this thing. get r done!
However, I am stuck. I don't have my nts and not too sure if there will be seats for mid-July. With that, I have an nts for Far. Should I get started on Far now and keep reviewing for Reg until seats open? I don't have a review course to bounce between, I would have to switch ninja from reg to far. I'm thinking Ninja won't let you do mcq's for reg and mcq's for far at the same time. or in the same month. HELP!
