Can someone help me with this…

I am filing my tax return. In state tax, the joint exemptions I can claim while filing as Married filing jointly (MFJ) is $3200 for me and spouse or is it $6400 (3200+3200 ) ?

I assume you mean your personal tax return for 2018. there is no personal exemptions anymore. The standard deduction for 2018 for married filing joint is 25,300. I don't know what state you are filing for. Go to IRS.gov to download a 1040 form. I hope this helps.

Yes personal tax return for Maryland state. I know there are no personal exemptions this year. Federal return is all ok. I got a notice from IRS saying for the state return saying Joint exemptions married filing jointly ( for two – me and spouse) it’s $3200. I had put $6400 initially.

So just wanted to confirm the logic for my knowledge.

Hey Ninja's, floating around on the site, getting ready to write notes again and face those mcq's. Work is really slow today, waiting for my NTS, but need to get that book out or turn on the audio. Anybody studying today? Facing any challenges to stay focused?

Question. For those who have taken REG, did you see questions asked in the MCQ that weren’t part of the Rogers review course? When I took FAR (barely passed), a ton of the questions on the actual exam were not part of my Rogers MCQ practice problems. Anyone else notice the same for REG?

I had Becker, but personally found that the REG questions were not similar to Becker….. so maybe Roger will have better luck.

@Lanmdennis I have only seen the same questions on the exam maybe once or twice, and they were Becker questions. The questions on the exam are usually new but as long as you understand the material you shouldn't have a problem figuring out the answer.

Also it's highly recommended that you do the AICPA practice exam before your exam, because people have said they've seen the same questions/SIMs on the exam. It's not guaranteed but it can happen.

    I passed REG!

Onto the BEC group. I'm halfway through this battle, it's so much harder the second time, but I'm going to keep on pushing.

@Ahugemistake Congrats on the pass!!! Wishing you continued success. study hard.
Regards to mcq's and test questions: There is no reason to expect the same questions from any review course on the test, granted you may get one or two but this is the reason why you don't memorize answers. Nail down the concepts and it won't matter what questions are there. I guess the more questions we practice, we can pick out key words, but exact questions I would not expect or change review courses looking for such.

    Thank you @Tncincy!

For the flashcards, I haven't used the Ninja ones, so I can't say. I did make my own flashcards on Quizlet as I was reading the text. They're very detailed but come handy for a quick review if needed.

I tried to post the link but couldn't.
