@katelyn: well among other things, I will again suggest reading ethics part, i got around 10 questions about it. some are pretty common sense but others really require you understand the specific rules. and maybe the magic that read things you dont like such as AMIT, the night before test , and guess what, it wont show up in your test .:), GOOD LUCK!

@ katelyn – Good luck on your upcoming test. I used CPAexcel and it prepared me pretty well for the MCQ. The SIMs (which I don't feel you can really prepare for) were a whole different story. I managed to sqeak by though. Did you use CPAexcel on your first try on FAR?

    @Argonaut

I used CPAexcel for my first FAR attempt, but I had only gotten through about half the material. I wasn't in full-on motivation mode yet 🙂 I had this crazy idea that I would waste over $200 just to see what the test looked like.

@go2eu That's funny because tonight is AMT night, lol. I'll just do my best, but I don't feel even close to being ready. I took Friday off so hopefully by the end of the day I'll feel better.

Not much to report on yesterday's exam. It went about as expected. Somehow the examiners know how to twist the facts around just enough to confuse me, even though I know the material. It's frustrating.

Not as much BLAW as my first exam, or so it seemed. I'm not sure if they consider Professional Responsibilities BLAW or TAX, but it was heavily tested. Know those areas. I can't believe Becker has it as ancillary material. A few off the wall MCQs, but the testlests seemed fair and manageable.

I blew through the first two SIMs no problem. The research was a cinch, found it in about 30 seconds; which was great because it really allowed me to focus more time on the others. The next SIM was the exact one that I had on my previous exam, which I thought was weird…still wasn't able to nail it, but hopefully did ok. The last two were nightmares. I had no clue what they were even asking. I was able to fill in the blanks, but I'm sure it was just nonsense.

All in all, I think it's going to be close. I know I missed some obvious questions, but I'm hoping everything will even out and I can finally put REG behind me.

I had the same experience like you at the exam today. I got the same simulation that I took the first time (I failed twice) but again wasn't able to nail it. The problem is they test you on details and I can't remember every little details. The reseach was a piece of cake!!! I found the answer in maybe less than a minute compare to last time I spent like 20 minutes and still wasn't able to find the code. I guess if you get the key word right it will be easy otherwise it sucks.

The simulations are fair I think but again they test you on details. My first 2 testlets were too wordy. The 3rd one was a little less but still wordy and that took me 1 hours and 45 minutes to finish them. A lots of questions on Professional Conduct Code. Overrall I did okay but I don't know if it is enough to add 8 pts to my last score to pass. Going to study for AUD.

Good luck to everyone who took and going to take REG this window!

Test day is today. I'm pretty annoyed that there is a dense fog advisory and I'm crossing the 24mi causeway. blah. At least I'm wearing my Saints shirt for good luck 🙂 Me and my Saints are going for all the marbles! (I'm pretty sure I've lost a few of my marbles since beginning this process.)

Just finished. All I can really say is that I am extremely disappointed in how Becker prioritized information. I would say the emphasis was on all of the wrong topics.

Just finished as well. MCQ's were about like I expected. That's what killed me last time, but it felt like I had a little better grasp this time. The sims were….whoo boy. Not as easy to open book and about some stuff that Gleim didn't cover heavily. Who knows? Guess we'll see in four weeks. Hoping for the best.

From my experiences Professional Conduct Code (Treasury Circular 230), Property Transactions, Corporation, Partnership and Individual Taxtion are always heavily tested.

My test went okay. I got pretty tired of testing about halfway through the 3rd testlet. The biggest challenge was topics that either weren't covered in CPAexcel or were covered but there weren't enough MCQs on the topic to give me practice. If I do a retake I will consider supplementing with Wiley.

Tested on REG today. As usual 80% of what I studied was not tested. And so the long wait begins.

    FAR 80
    AUD 85
    REG 78
