While FAR scared that crap out of me, it was the first section I took and I think that def played a huge role in why I was so nervous. My next 2 exams went fine as well. This is the one I am truly terrified about. I think this is the exam that covers so many things I don't understand and do not like! I really want this to be last exam! Any advice on how to divide up the time? 3 hours for 6 TBS questions doesn't really seem like enough, especially given that some of the multiple choice will take a little bit…

    WORRIED!

@CPArunner – By the looks of your other scores you'll do fine on REG. You know how to pass these tests. You'll do it. Good luck. I also do not like REG b/c of tax, I'm an auditor and have no exp. with tax nor do I use it ever so it very difficult to study. I take REG Jan. 7, but it is my second section and I failed the first one. How do you know it's 6 TBS's?

@CPArunner- I completely understand your fear of REG. I knew FAR would be difficult because of the amount of material, but REG will be brutal because I'm not really a tax girl and there are so many details to remember. Best of luck to you!

@KGC, welcome! We sit within a few days of each other, but it sounds like you are ahead of me. Don't worry about no tax experience; many of us here are new to tax. With hard work and repetition, we will get it done. I think CPArunner was assuming 1 research which won't take as much time the other TBS. I was lucky on AUD and FAR and got 2 research questions. I expect the TBS to be brutal on my retake because they were actually really manageable the first time around. I just didn't prepare enough. Although I was “stronger” on the TBS, I was “weaker” on MCQ and each section of the CSOs. Trying to focus on REG for now.

@eatrunCPA – Are you using Becker? Wow we are just a few days apart, although I haven't officially scheduled FAR but Feb 29 is my plan. My test results report from FAR was comparable on MCQs but weaker on SIMs. They were more difficult than Becker SIMS and I just did have enough time to finish. My goal for my retake is better time management and now I know what to expect. Good luck on REG and the FAR retake; I'm jealous your almost done.

@KGC- I am using Yaeger (which uses Wiley books) and supplementing with NINJA notes, Wiley online test bank and Gleim book/test bank. I haven't purchased Gleim for REG yet, but used it for FAR and it helped a lot.

@jus75- A handful of people around here use the Gleim test bank to supplement, but not many use it on a stand alone basis. A lot of my college professors recommended Gleim as an optional text and used it as a test bank for their exams. I decided to use it as a supplement because I am familiar with the format and like it better than Wiley.

thanks eatrunCPA. are you pretty much ready for REG in Jan, only few more weeks left. I am retaking it on 01/03/12 too, I didn't make it, was 1 point short, and that felt awful, really.

does anybody have a good method to study M-1? there arent really any questions with Wiley with regards to this subject. I know you add back or subtract permanent and/or temp differences, but that doesn't help unless you can practice with questions.

    BEC: Done
    REG: Done
    AUD: Done
    FAR: Done

    I'M DONE!!!!!! AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I am studying for REG for the first time and the tax stuff seems too easy. I am using Kaplan materials. I just don't want to be surprised with the tax questions. Is the difficulty with REG in the law questions? I also feel okay with the inventory stuff.

Can anyone share their thoughts on where the difficulties are in passing this exam. I'm running out of time I need to pass it the first time. I sit for it on Jan 9.

jus75 I am using the Gleim system. I have passed AUD and BEC and I am 4 chapters into my studies for REG. So far I have no complaints about the Gleim product. What do you think?

Carl37854, REG was my first exam and I failed by 1 point, I think Gleim pretty much covers everything, especially their MCQ are very good.
