Hi all – I'm re-taking REG in Feburary. I'm currently using Becker 2011 to study. Any thoughts on using the 2011 material to study for the 2012 exam? Is anyone aware of major changes?

I haven't found details like phaseouts on REG. That has been my experience.

Well, I am here again. Feel like Bill Murray in Ground Hog Day. I have heard that Becker is saying that 2011 can still be used and they will have some updates, but not alot of changes are taking place in the first window. I am really hoping I can put away REG in January. I am like you waiting on Audit next week. I am going to use the Roger course and cram. And going to write notes. Hoping the third time is the charm. 🙂

I'm growing increasingly depressed about my REG exam. I was prepared for a tax battle, and I don't feel I was given a fair chance. Especially with all my computer problems. The testing center said they would submit a case/report with my exam, but does anyone know what that will even do or what the process is?

Wow pistolpete…..that really sucks.

That has always been my beef with prometric. They have old computer equipment. We are in 2011. There is no reason why we have to use computers that look like they are from the year 2000. It baffles my mind. I have been lucky enough to not have computer issues, but I have read the horror stories on here.

I had similar experience too. My computer froze 2hs into the exam. When I called for prometric staff woman can in to troubleshoot the problem. She was sympathetic, but then to my horror, her idea of troubleshooting is to TAP THE MONITOR!

We finally had to reboot the computer

Hi Everyone,

Does anyone know whether there is a time limitation between passing the four exams and meeting the work experiance requirements?

I might be done with the 4 exams by December 2011 but have no work experiance yet. Should I be worried about loosing the credits for the exams?

ya during FAR when I clicked to start the SIMS my computer froze for a good 3 minutes and I assumed it was just the SIMS taking a while to load as usual but then blue screen of death and a critical error message appeared. I had to leave the room while the “tried to recover my test.” Let's just say I had a small panic attack while waiting for 20 minutes out in the hallway. Luckily, they recovered it on a different computer. I swear that's the reason I didn't pass. They assured me that all my responses to the first three testlets were already recorded and weren't lost. But, to encourage myself I like to think that somehow some answers were lost and I really passed but because some answers weren't counted, I failed 🙂

I can't remember the name of the person, but she had computer problems and had to take REG 3 times for one test. It was crazy, can't remember her state either. You could probably go back on this thread and you could read her posts. I believe it was the July August window that she had trouble.
