Hey, does anyone know the answer to this….say a doctor buys a practice from another doctor and the new doctor receives the patient list. How do you account for the patient list?

    FAR- 10/02/10- 75
    AUD- 11/24/10- 74, 8/31/11- 68, 10/16/11- 77!!!!!

@mrsleon–wouldn't it be an intangible asset?

I think so. But, is the value of it determinable (I think that's a word….lol)?

    FAR- 10/02/10- 75
    AUD- 11/24/10- 74, 8/31/11- 68, 10/16/11- 77!!!!!

I'm not sure but I'd think it wouldn't be determinable. It's like goodwill if I remember correctly. The value is based on the exchange. I'm probably completely wrong.

Well just got out of REG and uhh, that was insane. I think 25% of my MC came from the same 5 pages in Wiley. I went in prepared for the “important” stuff and wound up with just plain obscure minutiae, one of which I don't think is even covered in Wiley. Hopefully, I got enough points in the Sims even though I was clueless on one of the leaflets.

lol, no I think you might be right! Thanks for your insight. I appreciate it! Let me know if anything else comes to mind concerning the issue. I think REG totally killed me today.

@cpamaybe- uh, yeah REG was insane for me today too!! I didn't think the MCQ were too bad, but the SIMS slapped me in the face! It was awful.

Took REG yesterday…trying to think positive so I packed the books away with my FAR and BEC books…taking AUD next and hoping I don't have to do REG again….I thought there were a lot of questions on REG that were from the Becker ancillary material…like topics that I didnt study so I knew they had to be ancillary….the sims I thought were ok nothing like the SIMS for FAR–I thought those were impossible. I actually thought two of the REG sims were pretty basic which schocked me…but the rest of them were hard!! I hope we all pass..this studying is getting old 😉 I want my score…I dont know how I waited weeks the last time lol

i took REG today. Im so happy that the MCQ's weren't as horrible as i assumed. it was very straightforward. I imagined 3-4 sentence questions which didn't happen!! i was through MCQ's in hour and half,, thats after taking my time with each question.

on the other hand Simulations weren't anything i saw in Becker… alot of computation and took more time to figure out what was asked. However i managed but i could be wrong… Im keeping my fingers crossed for a passing score no matter what…

Hope all of us passed 🙂

FAR 1/30/14 86 beast is slayed
REG 5/30/12 81 expired :/ Retake April or May 2014
    AUD 5/24/13 85
    BEC 10/07/13 80

CPAMAYBE – I had the exact same experience today. The calculations were far easier than I had prepared for and I had a bunch of questions about topics I read over in Wiley and thought they'd never waste their time on. So I knew I had known the answer at one time and just couldn't nail it down. So many I was stuck between two of the answers. I was halfway through the first testlet and though I'd be taking this one again. Disheartening.

Do we need to know all the amounts like phaseouts, Maximum deductible amounts etc for tax portion of the test?

    Thanks 🙂
