General question… would 8 to 10 weeks be enough to study for REG?

I cant wait for this to be over.

    Momcpa2b,

It's all about hrs. 8-10 weeks sounds good but how many hrs per week?

    @David1985

About 15-18 hours per week. This is not including my lectures.

I think it's going to be fine. Just keep in mind that longer you take more you will have to review. Look at my schedule. I am banking on my short term memory. Helps when you have your own gig :). I would not suggest to do this to anybody else.

I took the test today and used only Becker to prepare. My total study time is a little under 2 weeks.

I finished the multiple choice questions with 1hr 55min to do the simulations. If you can do all the Becker MC you will blow through that part of exam.

Research question took a total of 1 minute (use the ‘containing these words near each other' feature in advanced search).

All the other simulations were straightforward. I didn't use the IRC for anything other than the research question. I'm 99% sure I got all the simulations correct, even the one I suspected of being a ‘pretest sim'.

Total time spent on the simulations was about 55 minutes and I left the exam with an hour to spare. This was my last exam.

well I'm off to do one last review of my Becker Final Review book and glance over the mistakes I made on the two practice exams then hit the sack. I'm praying REG goes well tomorrow. I'd love to have 3 of 4 out of the way this year so I can solely focus on my FAR retake for the next two months. Good luck to everyone testing tomorrow. I'll be back to give my feedback after its all over.

So just took REG and can say the exam was fair, nothing off the wall (used becker + supplemental questions from cpaexcel)

And as normal, the sims were tough.

So looking at the score release schedule, if you take an exam “close of window” (or today): you will be looking at a super hypothetical score release on December 7th?

Just had to confirm, cause that seemed to good to be true.

@CPA_VA, it is true. Your score should be released next week!

    FAR 88 (07/15/11)
    BEC 83 (08/31/11)
    AUD 81 (10/15/11)
    REG 83 (11/26/11)

Well, I'm back from REG. It felt a lot better than FAR…which I failed. So, that's a good sign. The MC were pretty reflective of Becker material so I was happy about that. Only a couple questions I'd never seen before so I'm assuming those will be thrown out. I'm not sure if the testlets got harder though which has me a little worried. The sims were alright. I believe I got at least 3 of 6 correct and made very educated guesses on the other 3 so, hopefully I'll get most of the points for those. Gosh I hope I pass. Here's to waiting until the 9th or the 12th for Texas to release scores! Until then, its time for a break from studying. I figure I shouldn't start FAR until I get results for REG because I'd rather review for a few weeks and test first day of January then study FAR instead of visa versa. How'd everyone else feel that took it today?

I got blindsided by REG today. I was well prepared for tax and tax related calculations (which I'm good at), but I got a test that seemed to be heavily weighted towards law.

I thought the SIMs were somewhat manageable and straight forward. One sim seemed too easy to be true, however my research question was a nightmare. I ran out of time and left 1.5 sims untouched. Strike 2

I had major computer problems. The calculator would freeze up which made it difficult to use. Switching between questions took 30 seconds to a minute each time, so it was virtually impossible to toggle through the questions. It was this way for SIMS too, except switching between them took an average of 2 minutes. The keyboard was slow responsive as well. They had to restart my computer at the end of the test, just to exit out of the exam. I'm sure these problems wasted valuable time. Strike 3.

    Here's to January.

    FAR - 68, 79
    AUD - 82
    REG - 71, 71, 80
    BEC - 76

    Part 1: October 2013
    Part 2: January 2014

@Pistol, I had the same experience as you in the MCQ today. Through me for a bit of a loop. My questions also didn't seem to get any more difficult, but I had the same experience with AUD and FAR. After taking FAR I felt crappy but went home and started looking up answers and found that I had better than I had thought. Today, however, I am realizing more that I got wrong. 🙁 In most cases (if I didn't know the answer) I was able to narrow the choices to two.

Sims were on manageable topics but I definitely thought about them more than I should have, and probably not to my benefit.

    BEC - 72, 79 (credit expires 1/2/11)
    AUD - 82
    FAR - 84
    REG - 81!!! 11/30/11 I AM DONE!!!
