Thanks, atelery. I really need to focus in. Have so much to review. I feel like I can pass it but I also feel like I will completely forget everything as soon as the test starts. Anxiety!

@Mahina. I also used Becker. Just took REG in October and passed. Also not a tax person. What I did was massive amounts of the Progress Tests and did ALL the simulations numerous times. Don't focus in on memorizing the amounts that are subject to annual change. Not as important as nailing down the rules and calculations (ex. Dividends Received Deduction, Casualty Losses, etc.) Every time I finished a chapter I would do progress tests on everything I had studied to date until I scored at least 90% consistently. If there was anything I had trouble remembering I would take handwritten notes from the book until it stuck. I also printed out the chapter notes from the software and used those whenever I had just a few moments to review.

For the exam, I utilized the research tab during the simulations. Get familiar with this when using the sims in Becker so you are ready during the exam. I also left myself about 90 minutes to finish the sims.

    Good luck!

    FAR PASSED!
    REG PASSED!
    AUD PASSED!
    BEC PASSED!

Got my REG score, 71 🙁 It was my first exam, so I'm not too bummed. Taking BEC in January and then I'll re-take REG in February. Any suggestions as to how long I should re-study for REG?

    BEC - 2/2012
    FAR - 4/2012
    AUD - 5/2012

Just wanted to post that passed this exam, and I hope I never have to study for it again!

Good luck to all those who are studying/waiting on results.

@isobel – Thank you! I have been reworking the multiple choice problems right now but really need to go take a look at the sims again. They weren't that hard for me the first time around on most chapters but I want to relook.

@Lauren – That stinks. At least now you know what the exam is like and can be better prepared.

I just found out that I got a 73 on REG and am currently studying BEC to take the week of Thanksgiving (should have been my last test). I only have 2011 Becker books. Does anyone have information on the changes for 2012 or if a 2011 Becker book will suffice?

    AUD: 97
    REG: 73, 88
    BEC: 87

I am in the same boat got a 71. I don't think that there will be that many changes if we take it the first window. were you weak in the SIMS??? I was as well as business law which I am very surprised at.

    FAR 76
    REG 76(2x)
    BEC FAILED (2x)
    AUD FAILED (2x)

@gottagetmycpa I honestly don't know what happened. I didn't study ancillary material at all and I got a ton of it on the test but everything seemed fairly straight forward to me.

    FAR: 80
    AUD: 97
    REG: 73, 88
    BEC: 87

If anyone is feeling like they got screwed over by REG add me to the bunch. As my new username suggests REG has become my one hurdle I cannot overcome. I studied my a$$ off and failed it in July and just failed it again. I actually did better when I didn't study two years ago and took it. I feel like Becker is not preparing me for this one so I am going to have to figure something else out. I have resorted to using this site as I feel like absolute hell and I have no idea how to pass this stupid test. To sum it up for the day

    FU REG seriously FU

Raising my hand ME ME ME!!! My plan of attack after AUD is to purchase a cram exam?? sims and business law did me in! everything else was strong and maybe one comparable!

    FAR 76
    REG 76(2x)
    BEC FAILED (2x)
    AUD FAILED (2x)

@ gd203 I don't know either I was scoring in the high 80's low 90's on MCQ before the exam. Felt way better after the exam then I did for FAR yet I passed FAR! I am not going to let it get me down though because I have to stay focus for AUD. but in Jan/Feb REG won't know what hit it!

    FAR 76
    REG 76(2x)
    BEC FAILED (2x)

So I'm COMPLETELY bummed. I've mad a 74,74,71 and today got my score of 73 on REG. For some reason I just can't seem to get over this hurdle. It's my last test and I have to have it passed by Jan. 3, 2012 or I lose a part. I've been studying with Yaeger and Ninja notes for the last 4 times. Does anyone have any ideas to get me over this hurdle??? Also, am I correct that I can't take it again this testing window??? And last question, how much will the test change in 2012? Should I upgrade to 2012 materials (not sure if I should do Becker or not) or stick with 2011 materials to get through. I'd appreciate any input from anyone.

    BEC - 75
    AUD - 79
    REG - 74, 74, 71, 73
    FAR - 73, 76
