Jayz11ParticipantI just took REG — the MCs were not too bad — felt pretty good and thats based off studying Becker. I just continued to do the quizzes and make sure I understand everything.
The PROBLEM I had was the sims. They were impossible; I walked out thinking ‘I wouldnt have studied that anymore even if I had more time.' About 8 Becker pages accounted for 40% of my REG grade — it seemed totally unfair.

Jayz11Participant@herbert7890 — I honestly wish I would have paid more attention to page 3 – 5 in the Becker book where it gives the breakdown…and thats a pretty good indication of the cost/benefit of time; more so than what they dedicate to each section in terms of number of pages.

SamBamParticipantI took REG early January and had learned one thing; EVERYTHING IS A FAIR GAME. I walked out of the exam feeling that I studied the wrong book (becker). I was tested on Law just as much on tax. And those anxillary readings should have been marked must read or fail. Study, Study, Study, and Study since nothing goes in vein when you do. Good luck.

LindsaySCParticipantI wondered if someone could clarify something for me.
In Jeff's 2011 NINJA notes, it says that a new limited partner requires all partners (general and limited) to agree, but that a new general partner in a limited partnership only requires all general partners to agree.
But, then my 2011 Wiley book (in Module 25) in the answer to question #27, it says, “The admission of a new general partner to a limited partnership under the Revised Uniform Limited Partnership Act requires the approval of all partners.” and the answer to question #28 says, “Unlike the admission of a new general partner the admission of a new limited partner requires the written approval of not only all of the general partners, but also all of the limited partners.”
I think the answer to #27 in the Wiley book is wrong. I just wondered if anyone could clear this up for me. Is it correct that admission of a new general partner only requires the approval of the other general partners?

TrinisocawarriorParticipant@rollerc07410 Hope you did well on reg. Did you see a lot of questions on the ancillary readings as well in Becker 2011? Which chapters/sections from the ancillary readings did you see?

AnonymousInactiveWell that really sucked. There's no way around it.
Ironically, REG was the test that I was the most confident walking into. I had studied since the first week of December and did over 1,000 MCs and 20 simulations. I got an 81 on the Gleim practice exam. However, I felt very uncertain during the exam especially on the simulations, which felt cruelly specific. I really think there's a possibility that I failed this one. I am just hoping that the painful questions and sims were pretest and that the AICPA is kind when grading.
Good luck to all of you.

AnonymousInactiveHey Emily,
If it makes you feel any better, I felt the same exact way. I've been studying since December as well, did every multiple choice question from the study materials twice, and got an 89 on a practice exam yesterday. My first testlet was okay, then my 2nd and 3rd were very very difficult. My simulations were RIDICULOUS. One of them I know wasn't discussed in the Becker materials (or was skipped over). Grr. Praying for a 75+!

LindsaySCParticipantI took REG on Saturday and felt the same way! Especially about the sims. Ridiculous! Not at all what I expected. Even the research was tough. This was my last one, and I am definitely hoping to pass so I don't have to retake BEC!

AnonymousInactiveI am right there with all of you. I used Becker and Wiley to study. I passed the Wiley and both Becker practice exams. I just got home from taking the exam. I am worried as I didnt see much change in difficulty between the testlets. I thought all of them were rough as I was shaking my head throughout the whole exam. I actually felt the first testlet was the most difficult and for that am worried.
You think there is a correlation between a difficulty in a question and the length of the question. I didnt see very many lengthy questions and hope my testlets did get harder I just couldnt notice. The sims were ridiculous as well. One of them has about 2 paragraphs of coverage in both of Wiley and Becker. After coming home and reading over the material I still dont know how to answer the question. I hope I am just delusional and pessimistic and receive a 75+ in the mail soon.

lvall1700Participantdana I felt the same way too. didnt feel a change in the difficulty over the testlets and most of the questions seemed pretty short. don't know what to expect really and I don't want to look in my REG book to second guess any questions. sims were a little unexpected too. haha

herbert7890ParticipantThese are my results for Becker's second final exam for REG (mcqs only). Testlets 1 and 2 were pretty straightforward but testlet #3 has a lot of details and I missed a lot of those. Overall is about 80 % for both final exams, which makes me feel confident but I'm a little worried about the details they could ask on the questions.

Testlet #3 – M/C Questions 24 17 70
