yankeeaccountantParticipant@Bakedcpa,
Hey! Thanks for the information—I sorely need it! Congrats on passing REG and being done. I ducked out on the forum when I got my score. It really was a downer. Not the most graceful thing I have done. But then again, it seems like I am going a different route.
I am getting back some gumption, I am going to try again on Nov 1.
Enjoy the buzz from finishing!!!!

AnonymousInactiveI'm so sorry 🙁 You'll nail it this time!! REG is really tough but you can do it!!
I've got to take BEC over again, and I know it's not like REG, but it's not going to be much fun either. I've supplemented what used to be study for the CPA time with other things like study for college and work…I'm going to have to squeeze BEC in somewhere…
Good luck all!!

AnonymousInactiveThanks @whenindoubt and @yankeeaccountant—in 3 months I hope to return the congrats to you both. My tips were moreso toward people taking it for the first time, for you guys I don't even need to bother with tips—you guys know what you are up against and both came close on your last attempt, you are right there and so very capable of getting over that hump—your biggest obstacle right now is how you bounce back. Stay confident with yourself and your approach(something I struggled with at first when I failed REG the first time), work hard, and I am confident that you will both pass next time around—hell I'd even put money on it!

yankeeaccountantParticipant@Bakedcpa—You nailed it. My attitude, or lackthereof. Right now it vascillates from “L is for Love” ( a Dodgeball reference–love that movie!!) to “Just Do it”. True story: Sat night I woke up because my (15 yr old) called me on my cell. I am totally foggy trying to understand him. Basically he said, Mom I walked a girl home and got picked up by the police for curfew. Dead silence. MOM, I am at the front door with Officer Carter, he wants to speak with you. Long story short, In Tennessee, they can take the kids to juve for violating curfew, BUT my son lucked out and the Officer just brought him home. PHEW! This is how things are going since score release time. UGH!! Have to keep laughing, it is the only way to go. Silver lining: my son is a gentleman, and walked the girl home, cool, he has manners. Thanks for the vote of confidence, I will be doing my best to make good on it.
@Acct–Thank you for your positive vibes! I am sorry about BEC, but ya know, sometimes when you are crazy busy, you just go into overdrive and are more productive. I know it won't be easy, but I have faith you will get there. 2011 is the year!!!

AnonymousInactiveI just received my Regulations score and I failed with 1…. 1 freaking point. I just wish they gave me a 68 instead of 74. Right now I'm in the library and i have no idea how to start studying again? How do i start, where do i start, do i need to scream, cry or what? This is the worst feeling ever but I'm not going to cry, I'm not going to scream, I'm not even going to feel sad because i can do it and I'll do it. For all that didn't make it we can do it, just believe in yourself and study, study and study until you can't study no more. For those starting this journey, you can do it, just study like crazy. Good luck to all

gottagetmycpaMemberam I the only one taking REG this saturday?? what was I thinking when I sign up for this on the first day of testing window! feels like just yesterday I walked out of FAR! I have been working so hard since I barely made it our of FAR alive ( and I study hard for that as well). I am scoring in the mid 80's on both wiley and becker. I just have this fear that everything that I am learning will not be on my test. That is what happened with FAR
If I fail it is the AICPA fault for testing me on stuff that was not reflected in my scores of 80's on the progress test! HA 🙂
FAR 76
REG 76(2x)
BEC FAILED (2x)
AUD FAILED (2x)"When you don't give up, YOU CANNOT FAIL"

anonymousParticipant@gottagetmycpa — let us know how it goes! I'm scheduled for REG next week. I just did my first Becker final exam and got an 80, I'm hoping to get to high 80s by the end of the week. What have you been doing as a final review?
For everyone else — any suggestions for the week leading up to the exam?

AnonymousInactiveHi I'm taking REG in a few weeks and I'm a little behind in studying. Just wondering what chapter / concept in REG is the “must-know” in order to do well on the test. (I know they're all important haha.) I just wouldn't want to leave that part for last on my studying agenda. 🙂
For example, for FAR, I would say the must-master concept are the bonds calculations.
Thanks in advance for the advice!

gottagetmycpaMembermy god as REG is nearing I am freaking out even more. I though FAR was bad! man all this information and I bet 1 million dollars that none of it will be on my test! I mean that is what happen with FAR and that has scared me for life 🙁 . Just want to pack up my becker books and turn the other way and never look at them again!
rant over back to studying!

best of luck with REG on Saturday. I will be retaking it on Nov 1. The one thing I would say is to make sure you plan out your time. Try and stick to 30minutes on each testlet so that you will have 1.5 hours for the sims. Best to give yourself as much time with the sims!
Congrats on passing FAR. 🙂

anonymousParticipant@CPABear — make sure you take a look at the CSO that tells you the percentage weights for each section. Not sure who you're studying with, but I feel like the massive amounts of business law information make it seem like it's a much bigger part of the exam. Really, it's only about 20%. If you are just starting and are looking to do the harder points last, I would maybe do the business law concepts first. The tax stuff it super important and quite challenging though, so make sure you have plenty of time for it. I haven't taken the exam yet, so I don't have much other advice! Hope this helps!
