Hey guys, I took the reg exam on Jan 15. I was using Becker 2009 material to study and did not buy or use any updates for the test. You will all be fine. Of course there were a couple questions that were over my head, but thats not because of the new material.

Give BEC chap 1 a quick read although I dont think I had any questions on it. I wouldnt stress over anything else. 95% of the questions were topics I saw or covered in the 2009 materials, although I did have a tough section in my simulation which I was sure was one of those test sims for the future.

The exam really wasnt bad and I actually think it was the easiest so far that Ive taken (Taken FAR, BEC, REG).

REG today! Goin over Jeff's notes. For anyone who took the new REG exam, do you know if the floor for casualty gains is 100 or 500? I am seeing both in the materials i am studying from. Jeff's notes say 100 for this year but i just want to clarify. thank you.

I trust Becker 100%, so I would say $100.

Im using Becker as well but i got Wiley test bank for more questions and for some reason in different questions, in the answers they sometimes use 100 and sometimes use 500.

Same thing happens to me, as I also have the Wiley 2011 book for REG and they use $500 as the casualty loss floor. Good luck on your exam!

I think it's still $100. From what I read in an article, I think it was temporarily increased to $500 for year 2009.

Took the new REG, alot of material on the multiple choice questions I never saw before, hope they don't count. when i got to the simulations and each time i went to the next tab, the whole computer froze for 5-10 seconds. However, two of my tabs were research questions, which is interesting. lets hope for whatever the passing score may be!

I had two research tabs as well. I am guessing 1 was pretest or it is some new format that the examiners are using.

So my material (I'm using Bisk), says that the estate tax and generation-skipping tax are repealed for 2010, so they aren't eligible to be tested in Jan/Feb & Apr/May. Would someone verify this for me?

I failed and I recall seeing pretty much everything I didn't study including all the supplemental nonsense. I sugest you read those sections.

Anyone have any thoughs on whether business structures will be tested in REG? BECKER indicates it's worth 17-21% of your grade but that also includes business law…..I can't imagine they would ask more than 1 or 2 questions considering the bulk of info business law has.

Jess, I think its situational and each test is different. When I took FAR I had tons of not-for-profit q's even tho those were supposed to only be 12 percent or something like that of the exam. I hate not knowing what to concentrate on when I study. My exam is Feb 26th and I'm definitely starting to feel that ‘last minute' stress. It's gonna be my fourth and **hopefully** last exam =)
