Ugh after reading this forum, I realize how much I should've focused on taxation more than law. I sit for REG tomorrow afternoon and am preparing for the worst. I suppose I'll go over more MCQs in Becker chs 1-4.5 😛 This is most certainly a part of the exam I do NOT want to have to retake.. as if one has a choice

Does anyone have a Wiley test bank? Let me tell you, the sims in there are difficult but they will prepare you for the depth of the sims on the real exam.

I'm so glad I am doing them.

@ Allyson – I love the Wiley test bank!! I used that mostly for REG, since I felt like I've memorized the questions in Becker, and now I'm using it for FAR. It really does prepare you for the exam. Good Luck on Tuesday!! I'll be thinking of you!! :):) GO GET IT!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley

    FAR 76
    REG 76(2x)
    BEC FAILED (2x)
    AUD FAILED (2x)

    @gottagetmycpa

I think it's because I live in TX which is a non-NASBA state.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

    #371549

oohh how do you know if a state is a non-NASBA? Does CA fall into this category??

    FAR 76
    REG 76(2x)
    BEC FAILED (2x)
    AUD FAILED (2x)

"When you don't give up, YOU CANNOT FAIL"

@gottagetmycpa – Yes, California is a non-NASBA state. And yes, we do get our score report even if we pass. Its located in your CBA Account under the “Status” tab. Down on the bottom right there should be a box that says “View Score Report.” This won't be located in your account until the 3rd week of September, when scores come out.

@Allyson & Jomarie, I bought the Wiley test bank for REG because I was too familiar with the Becker MCQ's. I love the Wiley test bank! I think it's a great supplement to Becker. Becker emphasizes certain areas that Wiley does not, and Wiley emphasizes areas that Becker doesn't, I think the two compliment each other nicely. I am hoping this is what I need to get me a passing score. I will say I like Wiley's questions more in that you can choose study mode. I'm not sure if it was @Allyson, Jomarie, or Yankee, but we were discussing that Becker questions for some reason are easy for us to memorize which was effecting our scores… I have this crazy theory that it's because Becker doesn't let have a study mode. So if you take a 100 MCQ practice quiz, you wiz through the 100 questions, then after being tired from taking the practice exam you have to go BACK and review all the questions again +the answers to the right & wrong questions–it basically forces you to read the questions with the right answer multiple times which makes you memorize. Where as Wiley–you select study mode, and right away you read the right choices & wrong choices, it eliminates reading the question a bunch of times. Just a conspiracy theory. Sorry for the rant!

Two things I've incorporated this time around to supplement Becker is 1) complimenting Becker with the Wiley Test Bank, and 2) writing out notes for areas that I tend to either struggle or forget after a few days(thought this was a great suggestion by Jeff and figured it might help). Both seem to really be helping.

Like many others, I also felt like toward the end of my review last time that I was gaining false confidence by how well I was doing on the Becker questions. I was scoring consistently in the 80's which on any other exam I tend to score lower on Becker than the real exam.

Getting questions wrong in Wiley is both frustrating and good at the same time, really helps me further my understanding of the material as well as give me a wake up call that I still have plenty of work to do(once again I've been scoring really high on Becker questions).

I wasn't even planning to hit up any sims—I haven't practiced them much throughout this process but then again they were my nemesis on the Reg exam. @allyson–without disclosing the actual content of course—would you say that the wiley sims you've reviewed look similar to the sims that you had on your 2011 version of Reg? Part of me wants to make sure I focus on mastering the material and being ready for any and all multiple choice they will throw at me, but then at the same time if I can somehow defeat the sims this time I think it would bode well for me.

Baked I know what you mean Becker gives you false hope on the quizes

@Baked – I think the Wiley sims are very throrough. I am doing all of them in the 2010 test bank. Today I was working on one and it just made me think about a corporate tax topic in a variety of ways. Ways that a multiple choice question doesn't, no matter how many I practice.

I can't disclose too much but I saw more calculations on my TBS than “drop box” type sims. Wiley reflects that more in their review than Becker does.

I only have 2 more days until REG and I'm losing all motivation..

    AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
    REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
    FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
    BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58

Peanut—this is when you need more motivation than ever. Try this—picture its September 24th(random guess) and you sign into NASBA or your state board and boom! Your Reg score is up, and you passed! Now, flashback to the present. Wasn't your trip to the future pretty cool? You passed Reg! However, if you want that to have a better chance of happening you will need to buckle down these next two days and get yourself as prepared as possible for that exam. So get to it! Hows that for motivation?

    Sincerely,

    Doc Brown and the Delorean.
