syyuchenMemberWhen I took Reg, the first testlet was medium/easy. The second testlet was hard. I probably didn't do too well on that, which is why the third testlet was medium/easy. Can I still pass, even though the third testlet went back to medium/easy?

AnonymousInactiveSyyuchen — That was the same pattern on my exam and I passed.

jomarieParticipantI don't see why not.
I've been taking mini quizzes (tests) on Wiley per topic. I've been scoring between 70 to 75% on the Business Law topics. After I'm done with all the topics, I'm going to try to get my score close to 80. My weakness is Business Law so I'm not sure if I should be worried that I'm scoring below 80%. What do you think?
Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!July 28, 2011 at 4:44 pm #371352
AnonymousInactiveBusiness Law made so much sense going through it but I am BOMBING the questions. They are so tricky!

yankeeaccountantParticipantAllyson,
I did the same thing. It made so much sense in the lectures…then homework time I was in the 30-40 range. Now, I am going through them again with Yaeger cram and hoping it is making some sense to me.
I pushed my exam back to the 6th of August just so I an grasp the blaw…and of course corporate tax. If I had to assign an evil villain to these subjects (and why not, I live in a house of boys and I have been seeing super hero movies/cartoons for a good long time!) The Riddler would be blaw (Jim Carrey played this character) and Corporate tax would be a toss between Freddy Kruger and Mike Myers–just by virtue that they keep coming back…which I am anticipating how the exam will go! Wow, is it back to school yet?! I am off the deep end….
Back to Phil and Module 23!

Ha! I can relate to the fictitious characters references as I have two boys too. Biz law is not that hard unless they throw the exceptions, tricks, and illogical crap at us – which they will.
I tried to go back and do some corporate tax questions today and it was as if I'd never seen the stuff before in my life. How soon we forget.

SoproudofmyselfParticipantBusiness law screwed me over on my first attempt back in Feb! I'm hoping 4 weeks is enough time to re-study everything again and really nail business law this time (although I think that will be impossible for me…I fall for their tricks).
I took it back in Feb and the 2010 tax laws applied, but now I'm re-taking in August. Do I follow the 2011 laws now? For example, exempion of 3,750 instead of 3,650 (for 2010)?

AnonymousInactiveBecker folks, do you do the supplemental questions? I don't think I did them the first time. I'm on R3 supplementals. These questions are really hard!
July 29, 2011 at 5:48 pm #371357
PeanutParticipant@Allyson, if you have the time I would do them. I did them my first two attempts at REG. This time I'm skipping them only because they're too familiar to me, I'm going to supplement with Wiley. I think you could possibly get away with not doing them, but if you have the time, why not?
AUD 81 (X4) Previous scores 59, 72, 72
REG 80 (X3) Previous scores 59, 60
FAR 75 (X2) Previous score 67
BEC 79 (X2) Previous score 58July 29, 2011 at 8:09 pm #371358
IwannaBaCPAParticipant@Allyson- I'd love to say I did all of them on FAR, but I just couldn't get through some of them…I did do them all for BEC and AUD and do plan to do them all for REG. There are 1,076 regular homework questions and 425 supplemental questions for REG. Pair that with 22 hours and 41 minutes of lecture (really just reading the book to me and telling some lame jokes) and I am already exhausted just thinking about it!!!
good luck! no REGrets and you will pass!!
BEC: 79 - April 2011
FAR: 78 - May 2011
AUD: 81 - May 2012
REG: 79 - October 2012
Ethics: Passed - March 2013
I am finally DONE!July 29, 2011 at 8:41 pm #371359
yankeeaccountantParticipantAllyson,
For what it is worth…I did them all. But I am in no better of a position. Gosh….don't know what the deal is, nothing is sticking!!!

PeanutParticipant@Jomarie, Do you have the Becker flashcards? Those really helped me with Blaw. When I took REG in April Blaw was the only section I scored “stronger” in. Go figure! Too bad I scored “weaker' in every other category haha
