I think property transactions are about 12% of the exam according to the CSO.

    @BakedCPA

    >>Dorky, I am curious as to how you felt about your retake. Your scores are really high in every section passed, without sounding like a jerk what happened with REG for you? Is that exam just that much of a beast now? And did you at least feel better about it this time around after going over the material again and retaking it?<<

Sorry so late to post an update.

For me REG was/is my achilles heel. I had lots of exposure in public and industry to the other areas, but tax just is not my thing. I studied for my Q1 exam, but was really burnt out and found it hard to focus. In many ways, I knew I wasn't ready for the exam and gave up before I even walked into the testing center. I hadn't done the work to pass, and I knew that. My score is simply a reflection of being completely burnt out and dumb for trying to take 2 sections during busy season…and I fell like yes, it *IS* such a beast now. I'd rather study for FAR over REG any.day.

I took 2 months off and started fresh for my july 1 attempt. This time I didn't walk out thinking I failed, as I did last time. This time I at least believe there is a chance that I could have maybe passed. So here's praying that goes well for me and YOU.

    >>Anyone have any advice on how to handle them when you aren't even sure what exactly they are asking? Do you think those are graded at all subjectively?<<

this was exactly my issue on the july 1 rematch with REG. it was as if parts of the question were missing or parts of the data to answer the questions asked was not provided.

mostly, i just wasn't sure where the question was coming from as 2 of them especially were completely ambiguous. maddening i tell you.

Thanks for the reply Dorky, it eases my mind at least a little bit. Starting to feel like this is one of those sections that you can be prepared for according to your review materials and it just simply won't matter thanks to the Sims, its driving me nuts but I guess the best counter for that is to be as prepared as possible—best of luck to you.

CaICPASoon: They test Property Transactions for sure (Module 37 Tax: Transactins in Property if you use Wiley). There is another one (Module 34: Property, this is more about law than tax) and Phil mentioned in his lecture that it won't be tested.

dorky: thanks for your info. I can skip “Insurance” then.

    Thanks both of you,

Can someone tell me how many testlets of MCQs there are on the exam? 2 and 1 sim or 3 and 1 sim? Thanks!

There are three testlets of 24 questions each, and 6 task based simulations.

    Hey guys,

Ok….about to start R7 in Becker today. I am on schedule–phew! But I have nothing in my head-bad!! I will start a 2 week review on the 17th using the Yaeger cram, Wiley testbank, and more Becker as well. I am hoping that Phil will bring it home for me! I feel like I listen to the lecture (no offense Peter Olinto) and it makes sense, but then do the homework and feel like I am seeing things for the first time. I did fine on Tax, it is just everything else that is not sticking. Not getting worried (yet), I am going to incorporate rereading my notes, ninja notes, and becker notecards in between. Here's hoping this works!! I don't think the family can take more of these exams–I need to pass!!

    Have a great study day!!

@yankee – good luck with your review. I know you'll get it. Just remember – you only have to keep the B-law in your brain for 3 hours, and then it can fly away forever.

    FAR 4/1/11 - 89
    AUD 4/15/11 - 85
    REG 4/29/11 - 80
    BEC 5/13/11 - 85

I just received my score sheet from last test window and I'M MAD!!!! I got a 68 on REG last quarter and it breaks down like so…..Business Law & Tax in Property Transfers – weaker and everything else STRONGER!!!! WHAT???? Most of the exam stronger but two parts weaker. Oh REG, we are going to have one hell of a rematch on Aug 9th!!

Started sitting in May 2002, on and off. But since 2008 I've been nonstop and my scores are....
    AUD - 39, 48, 56, 65, 68, 73, 76!!! (Finally passed in Oct 2011!!!) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    REG - 75 (Lost Credit) 72, 68, 73, 75 (Passed again in Aug 2011) Becker, NINJA, & Wiley
    FAR - 65, 68, 75 (Lost Credit) 68, 73, 73, 80 (Passed again in May 2012) Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
    BEC - 65, 68, 71, 72, 72, 71, 76 (Lost Credit)- 70, 76!!!! I AM DONE!!! - Roger, NINJA, & Wiley
After 10 long years of studying, I AM DONE!!!! Finally a Licensed CPA in the State of New York!!

Jomarie—doesn't seem right at all. Especially since one of those topics is weighted less than many of the others–did it say how you did on the MC and Sims? Silver lining is you only have two topics that you struggled with—nail those down and it should lead to a passing score this time. Not to mention anger is good! Channel it and use it as a tool this next month—you have a busy exam schedule so keep that anger towards the exam nice and fresh and go in with the intent to destroy these bad boys!
